I didn't address the jealous part because it's pretty obvious he has nothing to be jealous of... LaDanian has the same amount of Super Bowl wins as he does. 🙂

It's not that Barry couldn't score, it was Wayne Fontes yanking when they were in the red zone quite often. Fontes figured he'd get at least 3 points out of the drive and didn't want to risk Barry getting hurt. According to Barry's book, he wasn't thrilled with that theory. I don't remember word for word, but I believe he said he felt he could get the team 4 more points if he was in there, even if used as a decoy.

It's not like LaDainian always had a spectacular offensive line. He had some terrible tackles at times during his prime years. Dielman & Goff were a pretty good run blocking team the guard positions though.
