WOW we have a lot of paranoid people on here. Can't he just have some fun? Stop worrying about "Oh, he's not dedicated enough to football, he's just figuring out a new celebration."

Well, WTF do you think he's been doing all offseason? Obviously not this celebration thing.

Quit it, he didn't say he wants the offense to change for him. Finley said something about passing works better than running the ball and thats what he likes doing most. He also said he'd do whatever was needed. Relax.

I'm not sure how I feel about Clay requesting a new sack dance. Maybe do the captain morgan on the qb's head?

I have to agree with Flep and do the Barry Sanders TD celebration. Act like you have done it before and walk away. Hell even be nice and pick the qb up and pat him on the butt and whisper to him that you will be back there on the next play.

(edit) has anyone noticed our young guys are starting to worry about the wrong things? Finley wants the offense changed for him instead of learnig to block and now Matthews is worrying about a sack dance instead of figuring out on new ways of getting to the qb.

How the F do you know he isn't working on new ways to get to the QB? I guess a couple minutes on a TV interview just tells you all you need to know about how hard a guy is working at practice huh?

How dare these guys even leave the practice field. Why are they wasting time sleeping and eating when they should be worried about stepping up their game.

I have yet to see anyone complain about the Driver first down shimmy. Should he also act like he has been down before? It's only a first down, not even a touch down.

This thread got stupid before I even got here. Well done!

I look forward to the sack dance. It's bound to be awesome and probably going to be one of those things I do on the bed after sex.

That's one of the stupidest points a man can make. If I was doing something as awesome as playing in the NFL, got a sack, I sure as hell wouldn't settle for just walking away. Not that you should consume time in figuring out a good celebration, but if you just walk away, you seem like a guy who doesn't enjoy life in any way, doing things millions of people dream of doing and don't even seem to like it.

Act like it is a common occurrence. Like you expect to get another one on the next snap. Then get another one on the next snap. That would be a lot more intimidating that jumping around like a monkey. Piss people off an the next block may be at your knee. People don't like to be embarrassed. Getting beat is bad enough, but to rub it in, shows you don't respect them.

How about bring back some Kevin Greene celebrations?
He does both a step punch type celebration and a double arm pump type celebration . (I might turn it into a step then arm pump thing)

At the 0.15 to 0.20 second mark is a step punch (kinda covered up by a lineman)

At 0.25 to 0.30 second mark a simple rise of of the fist.

At 1.30 to 1.35 there is another step punch again but kinda covered up again.

At 2:16 does a double pump or a pump into a punch...

Another double pump celebration at 2:20

Alright maybe not a long term fix but good enough for at least one whole season right?

Probably he should concentrate more on his job than on how to dance around, otherwise he won't have to celebrate anything this season.

THUMBS DOWN

Clay Matthews hasn't been close to a dominant performer. Everyone seems to just assume that the second-year man is on the fast track to greatness because of his excellent rookie season. His impact has been minimal so far. In the one-on-one pass-rushing drill, Matthews was an unsightly 0-6 before putting a hellacious spin move on Mark Tauscher in his last turn Thursday night. Still, you'd have to score it a draw because Tauscher made one of his patented recovery jobs, and Matthews lost his balance and was unable to finish. Previously, Matthews had gone 0-2 against rookie Marshall Newhouse, 0-1 against Bryan Bulaga, 0-1 against Chad Clifton, 0-1 against Breno Giacomini and 0-1 against T.J. Lang. He hasn't looked anything like a premier rusher. Meanwhile, Matthews hasn't been special against the run, particularly in his jousts with much-improved run blocker Jermichael Finley. On Tuesday night, it was shocking to see Finley demolish Matthews with hundreds of fans looking on in the first of 10 fiercely contested one-on-one's between the LBs and TEs. They later battled to a draw.

It was a tight game, and it swayed back and forth. And sure enough, he pulled out a victory at the end...
I swear to you, he smiled while he was doing it. He smiled til the end.
We’ll miss you, gunslinger.
