Clay is definitely a trash talker. Whenever he is mic'ed up, I just say to myself man am I glad he is on our team, because if he were on another I would absolutely hate him. I think that is pretty universal though.

Well Kap certainly was Russell Wilson in previous meetings.

I never bought into the wildcat fad, but I really feared, and to an extent still do fear the mobile read option crap.

That said, it's funny to see how far the "one read and run" QBs like RG3 and Kaep have fallen in such a short time...and at such a hefty cost to both franchises, the 49'ers in particular.

The scrambling was more of an issue to our defense. We just needed guys to step up and tackle. You are seeing players actually tackle now. Now THAT is great to see.

Russell Wilson is overrated.

It's ridiculous to see how he has imploded over the last two games, but let's not forget he put up a pretty decent showing against the Vikings and the Steelers... I don't think he's suddenly become as horrible as his play the last two weeks suggests.

I was really afraid that Kaepernick would snap out of his funk and play decent against the Packers. I don't know if it is his own idea or the coaches, but it was a colossal mistake for him to stop running. Nobody but nobody as long as I can remember ran from the QB position as well as he does - certainly not Wilson, not Griffin, not Vick, not Randall Cunningham, not Steve Young, not Bobby Douglas, nobody. And he seemed sturdy enough not to get hurt like Griffin. Coincidentally (or not), when he stopped running, his throwing got worse. Sunday, he came out running a little bit, and I thought, "oh shit, it's gonna happen again", but we defensed it pretty well and he stopped doing it. Also, he didn't seem to have quite as much acceleration as he did those other times when he killed the Packers.

In general, I'd take Wilson over Kaepernick, but Kaepernick is downright scary when he runs, no doubt about it. I think he's also kinda a head case, and Clay was trying to exploit that.

He is and always was a one trick pony well suited for an offensive fad that's now regressed back to its mean: not irrelevant like some of the gimmicks we've seen but not something you can rely on as the sole source of quarterback production. Until he shows he can go through a progression or improve his accuracy or gets a similarly stacked roster around him, he's going to struggle.
