The Green Bay Packers signed first-round draft pick Bryan Bulaga on Friday.

Terms weren't disclosed by the team, but ESPN reported the deal was for five years and $14.75 million, including $8.76 million guaranteed.

Watching football on Sundays will be a whole new experience with NFL Network's new channel, NFL RedZone. Find out why.
With Bulaga signed, the Packers will have all of their players in training camp on time. The team's first practice is Saturday afternoon.

Bulaga, the No. 23 pick in April's draft out of Iowa, is viewed as the Packers' left tackle of the future. The team is giving every indication that they will begin grooming Bulaga to eventually take over for veteran tackle Chad Clifton, who has started 138 games for the Packers over the past 10 seasons and re-signed as an unrestricted free agent after drawing interest from the Washington Redskins in the offseason.

The Packers placed nose tackle Aleric Mullins, an undrafted free agent, on the reserve/did-not-report list.

I hope that was a joke, because heart murmurs are harmless.

But if he's on a reserve list, that means no one else can steal him away, right?

From the sound of it, he quit football because of his heart thing that he described as a murmur. I'm sure he knows a lot more about it than we do. Here it is-

To make room for Bulaga on the roster, the Packers put rookie free agent nose tackle Aleric Mullins on the reserve / did not report list. Mullins was one of three tryout players the Packers signed after their rookie orientation camp in May.

An intriguing prospect, the 6-1, 319-pound defensive lineman from North Carolina, was bypassed by most teams because of a heart condition discovered during the combine. Mullins described it as a heart murmur.

The Packers passed Mullins on his physical in May, but it's unclear what changed. The fact he is on the did not report list suggests that Mullins was the one who chose not to continue his career. Whether the Packers had a role in the decision is unclear.

He played four years of college ball with the murmur, didn't he? Murmurs are harmless. NFL teams are faced with an overwhelming stream of talent to evaluate and seize on anything to weed people out. This was a convenient way to get rid of the guy.
