A week before Family Night Lambeau will be in use.

The Green Bay Packers today announced details for the first annual Packers Movie Night, at 7:30 p.m., July 31, in Lambeau Field.

The event, free to the public, begins with music and giveaways at 4:30 p.m. in the Tundra Tailgate Zone and then moves into Lambeau Field with gates opening at 6:45. The north end zone will be used for seating and can be accessed through the Miller Lite Gate, Verizon Wireless Gate and Oneida Nation Gate. Concessions will be open with a selection of movie-theatre fare.

A fireworks show will conclude the evening. Attendees coming to the movie will receive a free giveaway item as well.

This is the future. Lambeau being used for many things.

Do you think it is good thing, is it the begining of a "slippery slope", or is it something for the railbirds who come into town for training camp?

I think it is a gimmick to get more money out of those showing up for training camp. For out of town people it is a big deal to get inside Lambeau.
They will go for it.

I'd rather they use Lambeau for little things like that, then us lose Lambeau.

As long as they do not lay down a cover on the sacred tundra and have a SWAP MEET every Sunday in the off season, I have no challenge with the Packers generating revenue.

Mark has done a brilliant job generating revenue in so many ways.

One thing I would like to see is a January Classic Outdoor College Hockey Game in Lambeau between the the University of Wisconsin and Minnesota.

I might even fly in for that experience.

I don't think much revenue will be generated. It's free and they have give aways and fireworks.

I would have thought this kind of thing was happening all the time. They should host concerts and stuff in NFL stadiums.

If there is no cap next year we'll need that and much more. Even now it's hard to compete with the large quaranted bonuses. Using Lambeau more makes sense as long as what they do doesn't cheapen the aura. I believe we have good management so that will not happen.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

I'm fairly certain the Pro Shop and all the vendors will still be open and in attendance for these events. That will bring in sopme money I have to believe. Versus the cost of running the event, I dunno. And if some of it comes from sponsor dollars, then maybe the Packers to come out in the black on it.

Lambeau is a monument to people, it needs to be available so that people that can't get to games can still experience Lambeau. Love it.
