As a fan, I'd like 2 more regular season games.
I used to like preseason games a lot more before the damn announcers ruined them for me. I liked the opportunity to see the second- and third-stringers. To get enthusiastic about the no-names. To debate who had what skills and who was just a guy about to be cut. I've never been able to attend training camp, and so that was really cool.
Preseason was also a fun time to watch games between other teams, and think about who might be cut (and then picked up by the packers).
But of course the networks and their "storylines" babble about this or that star, their damned booth conversations, their missing of several plays in a row and virtually ignoring the action for quarters at a time, ruined the preseason games for me.
So, I'd rather see two more regular season games than two preseason games.
But if they go that direction, they'll have to change the roster rules. Get rid of the inactive list, for a start. Change the PUP/IR rules. Increase the roster size.
On the other hand, if I were a player, I'd hate the idea. Two more games means two more weeks of pounding on the body.
And if I were a player, and the owners went ahead with it, I'd be more interested than ever in getting a pit bull/asshole agent, holding out for higher salaries, and all the rest. Because two more games of wear and tear on the body means an even shorter career and/or even more accumulating medical problems for life-after-football.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
