Sure you can say that our DBs have weaknesses, but Woody and Collins are both elite with Woody being borderline Hall of Fame.

Then the depth of your worry is owned by you and perhaps very few. Probably those who hate the organization leaders would be at your side, however, fans who seen the games understand ... we need to improve our short pass defend and middle field pass defense ... but by no means are we a 2 - 14 team as I gather you feel we are.

The Packers look like they are ready to take the next step. They will be representing the NFC in the SB after taking their division and winning 13 games.

Every year we go into the season paper thin at at least one position. This year it looks like it could be CB, possibly OLB.

A lot of people get worried about our CB position.

Let me ask you this: which team's CB depth-chart would you prefer over ours? Jets? Keep in my mind outside of Revis, they too have a depth-chart featuring a CB that produces more off the field than on, and a rookie CB that is an unknown.

Anyways, back to my point: which team's CB depth chart would you prefer over ours? (feel free to say the Jets if you really think their CB depth chart is better)

Let's take take arguably the 3 best players of my lifetime - Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, and Reggie White. Each one of them had at least one bad game each year.

In 1987 when Reggie White was at his peak, he went games 3-5 without a sack. Dang, Reggie White must suck. Eagles should have cut him. Those OTs had his number and definitely prove that Reggie White just wasn't that good.

The year Barry Sanders rushed for over 2000 yards, in game 1, he had 33 yards on 15 carries and game two he had 20 yards in 10 carries. I guess Barry Sanders sucks. Lions should have cut his ass. (That was 1997 just in case someone wants to look it up).

Jerry Rice's best year was 1995. That year, the Buffalo Bills, a team on the decline as that was part their 4 straight SB appearances, totally had Jerry Rice's number. He had 5 catches for a measly 32 yards. Yikes. That's just awful. Rice in 5 receptions couldn't break one. My God. Horrible. Cut his ass.

And yes, I completely agree with you. Charles Woodson got beaten by Larry Fitzgerald. Goes to show Woody just isn't that good. We should just cut him. Plus, anyone who has one bad game should be cut. That would mean pretty much every player who ever played in the NFL. Cut 'em all because they're obviously not perfect. Anyone who isn't perfect should be cut.

Just in case someone's retarded, I'm being sarcastic. +1 to AADP. I'm waiting to hear anyone's response to AADP's question.

is the hyperbolic rhetoric there to purposefully insult and/or demean my intelligence, or...? last year i felt like i watched a team who played pretty hot/cold. i'm simply not convinced that we're going to come out and dominate like a top 5 team (which after last year's preseason, was how things appeared). that aside, i think we'll have a more convincing year this year, regardless if the wins are more or less, because of the diminished amount of growing pains via defense and young talent.

would i fucking LOVE to be proved wrong? oh hell yes.

Twink - No. I'm a comedian and sometimes go overboard. If you took it as an insult to your intelligence, sorry. Didn't mean it like that. I meant it to be absurd that players can go a full 16 game season without a bad game.

The Packers are a different team today than they were through the first half of the season last year. Since the Tampa loss, this team has been hot. It went toe-to-toe with both Arizona and Pittsburgh on the road. Yes they loss, but you can't argue that they were overwhelmed by either team.

They also beat Dallas. Not only beat them, but handled them pretty well. Dallas was hot at the time. The next week they followed up with a win against San Francisco, who finished the season 5-3 in their last eight games.

Finally, Green Bay beat Baltimore in a cold weather game. That's a team built to come to Lambeau and beat the Pack, but they didn't. The Ravens went on the road in the postseason and hammered New England.

In between all the examples I gave, the Packers handled Detroit, Seattle, and Arizona.

The one close game they against a poor team was Chicago, but even then, it's on the road against your hated rival. You throw out the records in that one. Everyone always does.

This team is a top four team in the NFC. Minnesota, New Orleans, Dallas, and Green Bay is the class of the NFC. There is always another team in the conference that will come out of the shadows and emerge as a contender as well, but Green Bay is there. Make no mistake about it. The Tampa loss actually changed this team for the better.

Exactly my point. Everyone has off days. Everyone gets beaten.

The only perfect team in my lifetime was the '72 Dolphins. The only perfect player was......

(never happened).

I don't think any player has had a perfect season. Every player had at least one bad game every season. Heck, since I threw the best RB of my lifetime out there (Barry Sanders), the best defensive player of my lifetime (Reggie White, well, arguably it was Lawrence Taylor but I'd rather not go there as the guy's a dick and I'd like to believe Reggie was better), and the best offensive player overall in my lifetime (Jerry Rice) and took their respective best years and they still had bad games in those best years.

Now, that is really saying something when you can take the absolute best players and take their best years and they still have bad games.

Let's now look at QBs. Arguably the best season for a QB in my lifetime was 2007 Tom Brady. 50 TDs (which is the official NFL record) vs only 8 INTs. The whole year was near perfect except for a flub against the Jets (0 TDs, 1 INT, 51.5 rating) and a bad game against the Chargers in the Playoffs (2 TDs, 3 INTs, 66.4 ratings, but the rest of the team bailed him out). His SB performance was average, which wasn't enough to win it.
