Just got a PS3 yesterday, but need some suggestions for non-sports games. So far we've bought Soul Calibur 4 (my wife and I have been playing the "Soul" games since the first one came out in the old arcades), Street Fighter 4, Little Big World and Silent Hill: Homecoming.

I'm really not that into war games. I'll probably pick up the newest Call Of Duty game, just because I know a ton of people who play online. If I'm playing a shooter, I'd rather be shooting aliens or zombies...Haha!

I know I'm a month late, but I'll throw out some of my recommendations.

Uncharted is an amazing game. I haven't bought Uncharted 2 yet. I haven't found enough time to play through a game, but I intend to do so soon. It's received very well by most people. The games are very Indiana Jones like. Their third person shooters, but great games.

Resistance and Resistance 2 are both very fun first person shooters. It deals with killing a creepy alien race.

Killzone 2 deals with fighting people on another planet. Amazing graphics. Very fun and intense game.

Ratchet and Clank might look like it's for kids, but it's very fun to play. I enjoyed Tools of Destruction quite a bit.

Give these a google search.

PS3 game ideas.. I do game reviews for PS3 games at GUGaming.com  Either click on the link or go to gugaming.com and go to the review section.

I highly recommend Darksiders (if you liked the Zelda games for the N64). LittleBigPlanet is a fun one, but you already know this.. 🙂

Anyone here playing red dead redemption. IMO, it is a solid Game of the year candidate.

- My summary
1. Good story
2. It is obvious the developers painstakingly tried to capture early 20th century Southwest US.
3. Very good gameplay

Negatives - Controls can occasionally be frustrating

My roommate owned a PS3 for a little bit, I never played it but I watched him play through both Uncharted games. You know a video game is good when someone can enjoy watching it 😉

Let me know what you think. I am trying to take my time and do all the side-quests since not many games are coming out until the fall.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've picked up Fallout 3, which is pretty good. I like wide open, free roaming games so it's pretty fun. Also picked up Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Need For Speed Carbon. GT5P is pretty disappointing compared to GT4. Of course it's only an intro to the full game that's coming out, but my wife and I love GT4 because of the old cars, which GT5P only has one. Also bought Ghostbusters, which is unbelievably fun. So far, the best thing I've bought for PS3 is the Turtles In Time remake. That was one of my favorite games when I was a kid, and the remade HD graphics are pretty cool. Yeah, it's a mindless button-pusher, but the nostalgia factor is overpowering. Haha!

I have the Turtles in Time demo.. And I agree.. Classic button masher.

If you want a good action-adventure, I highly recommend Darksiders.
