I don't care which way he runs, as long as he's healthy and doing his thing.

That's cool, I just prefer our returners gain yards instead of dance around.

Like Jordy last year?

Quite a statement from someone who's most likely offering goat blood to a Barry Sanders shrine.

If he does want to return kicks, then yes, he might have to change his style. Problem is, you won't know how succesfull he'll be then.

I just think that we should use him the way we are doing already on PRs. Let him dance around, make those cuts etc. Tramon does it, as well, and he's our 2nd best PR, imo.

If you ask me, we should just give up on him returning kicks. He's a decent KR, but a good PR. Just hope that he survives the season when he's not getting hit on both KR and PR and keep him a little fresher.

And there's where Sam Shields should enter the picture. He's a guy who appears to go north to south and uses his straigth line speed.

lol@goat blood!

A lot of returners dance around AND get positive yards.

I've seen Blackmon dance and get barely anything.

It's funny you say he's a better KR than PR, when he has 0 TD's as KR but 3 TD's as PR.

If Blackmon can dance around AND get positive yards, peachie. However, that's not the case and that is the point I was making.

Rock actually said the exact opposite. He said that the Packers should give up on him being a KR.

I agree with you on him going more north/south, especially on kick returns. If you look at the great returners like Cribbs and Hester, they make their one cut and go. That's what I'm hoping Shields can bring to the table.

lol, Kevin, I have no idea what you were telling me to do. I've since calmed down and actually have time to read it, so I'm sure I will. But that obvious mistake jerked me out of the article, and I was running short of time.

Which safety will he be playing primarily? Free or Strong? I cant imagine him playing strong. And if he's playing free, I guess it would be as a backup/emergency.

They ought to locker him up next to Colledge. Maybe he'll figure out he doesn't have so much to cry about after all.

Well, the best thing about that is he is willing to do what he can to help the Packers out. Hopefully the injury bug has left his body for good this season and he can help the team in the KR/PR department more than anything.

The coaches can talk all they want, but I see this as a demotion for Blackmon. I think that because of his injury history, they no longer have confidence in his ability to develop into a serviceable CB, so they're moving him to safety, where there is less need for speed and quick-cutting ability.

All the talk about the safety position being a way to utilize Blackmon's "ball skills" is pure BS, because a CB needs ball skills a lot more than a safety does. If the injuries are behind this move, it does not bode well for Blackmon's prospects for being an effective punt returner again.

Another bad sign that I see with this move is that Jarrett Bush just moved one step ahead in the CB rotation. I was hoping that Bush, not Blackmon, would be moved to safety. They toyed with that idea a bit last year but never really followed through with it, for whatever reason.

beast (53m) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
