Two of them came against the Vikings.

It doesn't matter if he ran back five in one season. If he's not able to stay healthy, what's the point of wasting a roster spot on him?

If we find a capable Punt Returner that serves a dual roll, I don't see Blackmon staying around. I don't think Bush or Blackmon will both be back. I'm confident one of them will be gone. I'm leaning towards Bush.

Thus is why I said Blackmon's health is the "if."

A PR TD is a PR TD. He's got 3. No one else on our roster can return punts as well.

Our STs suck. Aren't we ranked as #31 or #32 in the NFL? Thus, I really hope Blackmon stays healthy.

Honestly, with the meat we have at defensive line right now, we can run a formidable 4-3 and 46 to go along with the improving 3-4.

Well, I have to say this surprises me. Not as much as shifting Woodson to safety and making Williams the starting corner would, but close.

My personal belief was that Pickett was pretty much a stud at the nose last year and that Raji, while not bad, didn't show enough consistency, much less superiority over Pickett, to give him the starting job in a "permanent" way.

On the other hand, our DC is Dom Capers...so maybe he's got something really cool up his sleeve. 🙂

I agree, this must be a leak to spurn those who are holding out. Let's take valuable time away from legitimate replacements for the purpose of getting one good player and another who has yet to maximize his potential to sign their tenders.

Wait, nope, I don't think so. I think the Packers are trying to figure out where to place these guys to best suit the team. The Raji/Pickett move makes sense in that Raji has youth and power on his side. The Bush/Blackmon move makes sense in that Bush is a good special teamer and they'd like to find a position that he can double his value with on the team. Blackmon is quick and elusive with the ball in his hands, putting him at Safety would give him more ballhawking opportunities.

The information isn't leaked. They have reporters watching the OTA's and they are reporting their observations.

I do think the moves are moderately related to the unsigned players. I do not think the information hitting the internet or public is any kind of 'leak'. It's reporters doing their job while they observe the OTA's.

I think if Bush or Blackmon falter in their new position, they'll be outtie.

Of course there is more to it than placing pressure on those holding out.. but it isn't just an observation.. the reporter asked the players.. they confirmed it.. and the "permanent" tag was added.. it might not be a "leak" but I think it is crafted this early to carry a bit of a message.

But in the end.. of course it isn't done solely with the intent of coaxing those not in attendance.. that it is being done to help the team.

With that said.. if it binds the shorts of those not participating.. so be it.. it can only help the team.

Does anyone else think this represents a huge shift in our team philosophy? First couple of years under MM's tenure, we've gone with mostly little guys along the trenches. Past two years, we've finally started to put in bigger linemen, what with the 3-4 install and last / this year drafting of Lang, Bulaga, and Newhouse.

I don't mind the change at all, but it's interesting to see....

Yes.. and I think I have the answer to that and a another question that has been bothering me.

It is of my belief.. that Dfoster made a little trip to 1265 Lombardi.. and brought with him his normal conversation candor... informed Ted, Mike McCarthy and company that they had a flaw in their philosophy when in comes to offensive lineman.. most notably when it came to lead in their asses and arm length.

Well. the draft passed.. we now have some girth along the Oline.. but Bulaga has short arms according to some.. so Foster made a return visit with a bit more marine subtlety (talk about a "oxymoronic" statement lol) to his conversation and instruction.. and he is now residing in the Brown Country jail and unable to visit PH.com.. hence his absenteeism.

So yes... I think they have changed their approach.. although it cost us dfosterf... talk about taking one for the team.. lol.

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
