There was video posted on this site in which Rodgers discussed Kampman. I can't remember exactly what he said, but I don't remember it being negative.

I guess I don't remember Kampman missing anytime.

The QB is the leader of the team, like it or not, that's just how it is. If he doesn't take the bull by the horns, he won't be well respected in the locker room. Albeit, it must be tactfully done.

Aaron, how do you feel about Kampman being reluctant to play LB?
Good - He is a true professional and we're confident he'll make the most of the transition and benefit the team.
Bad - He needs to stop whining about it and do his job.

I haven't been able to find the comments by Rodgers on Kampman. :(

It was posted here.  He said some things on a radio show when Kampman looked and sounded quite unhappy with the change. Doesn't look like the link in that thread still works, though.

The context of those comments were how Kampman should feel excited about moving to linebacker and how he should embrace the change. How the hell would Rodgers know?

Again.. it isn't the end of the world and it isn't a huge deal.. but why stick your nose into it. Say your piece on your confidence in your teammate in public and leave it alone.

And personally.. this nonsense that the QB should be the leader of the team by default is bullshit. Leader of the offense.. that I will buy, but they have to earn the title of leader of the team. Just like any of the other 52 men in the locker room... not just handed the leader badge upon their position.

QB's are not default leaders. it's a position they are expected to learn, why? Because they have the ball in their hands EVERY play of the offensive game.

So does the center.. should their stature upon the team be elevated because of it?

Close to have the snaps the QB hands the ball off in less than 2 seconds.. not much unlike the center.

Reality in the locker rooms I have seen or been part of.. the QB has to earn the respect of those around them.. it is outside of the locker room in which the media, fans and yes coaches fawn excessively over them.

the Center? lol ... c'mon that's such a reach ... okay i'll bite the nitpick.

Your comment about the center having the ball equally as much as the QB during a hand-off is false. The action of the ball being snapped starts the play, thus he has the ball for less than a second. A QB will have the ball for 1.0 to 1.5 seconds depending on the depth of the RB or if it's a toss.

The center snapping the ball to the QB (or Wildcat) starts the offensive play. So, the argument that the center should be considered the expected leader is not relevant at all. The QB will have the ball and hand off or throw or carry it himself. He's the one with the most responsibility for the team's success. Who gets the blame for the loss? Who gets the credit for the win? He who holds most responsibility is going to be the expected leader.

As I said in an earlier post, simply being expected to be the leader does not mean you ARE the leader. It must ... I repeat MUST be earned through the 52 men in the locker room and the dozen or so coaches.

QB's rock Shawn, it's okay. 😛

Hardly false.. the center has his hand on the ball through the cadence, has to remain set, then in motion has the ball for close to a mississippi before the QB controls the exchange.. less in shotgun.

So in totality.. the center has possession of the ball for more time than the QB. When he sets, he assumes possession of the ball.

Now dispelling this notion that they have the most impact on the game.. which is a myth.

Case in point.. 2009 Packers.. the offensive line failed early and it impacted the offense far greater than Rodgers ever could.

If the receiver drops the ball... the QB failed right along with him.. his success is dependent upon his teammates.. hence why all 22 have to carry their weight upon the field.

But somewhere along the lines, these QB get this notion that they are in control.. when in fact it is nothing more than an illusion developed by the glorification placed upon them..

When I found out Zero was a former QB.. the PH world made sense clearly.. lol.
