Why waste a pick on a Kicker? I'm telling you, Crosby isn't that bad.

Let's reverse this. Let's put Crosby on a team with ideal conditions. Several of us have already said the argument about how GB is a lousy place for Kickers.

I bet Crosby would be middle of the road or maybe slightly better than middle of the road.

Of course ideally, would have preferred to go back and time and kept Longwell.

Zero - as for Cliffy and Tausch, I agree with Nonstop. They're both getting old and are both injury prone. Thanks for the many years of good performance. Yes. But I'm really weary of even the near future with both of them.

Crosby had a pretty decent %age from under 50 yards. Although he did seem to struggle from the right hash. I think part of his problem is the holder. I think another part of his problem is he's not clutch with the game on the line.

Mark Tauscher is injury prone? No, he's not. Look up his game logs. He's been reliable.

Now Clifton is injury prone, but doesn't seem to miss much time cuz of it. A couple games a season he's not accountable for and I believe its been like that his whole career.

My take on Clifton and Tauscher is ... shoving them out of the door BEFORE we have BETTER players to take their spot simply due to age is not wise. If they're still getting the job done, why mess with it? Of course we need to groom for the future and I'm all for that. I just don't understand why a few are so eager to usher them out especially when their still effective, far more effective than anyone else on the roster at that position.

What I want to see happen is when a game is in hand, Clifton our LG and Tausher are removed and we put in Bulaga, Newhouse, and Lang and then grind out the game with the future road graders. Clifton and Tausher's run blocking leaves a little to be desired anyway.

TWO WINS.

That is what Crosby will cost the Packers this year.

Two times this year the Packers will lose due to the fact he missed a FG he should have made.

You may be right, I'm not great Crosby fan. But it seems most kickers miss crucial field goals at some point during the season, certainly the merely average ones who Crosby is being described as.

His FG % is probably hindered by the strength of his leg. If he could only hit chip shots he wouldnt be given lots of 50 yard + kicks to make.

As for Harrell the roster numbers aren't looking good. I hope he starts pulling up trees in TC but if a 3-4 team drafts 2 DL then it doesn't say much for fringe, injury prone defensive linemen on the team.

That would be pretty cool. Great way to get the young guys some real NFL snaps. Put Flynn out there behind them, just in case. I don't know if Newhouse will be the #2 LG though.

Hopefully Rodgers and Co. will run up the score a few times this year. It seems realistic to me.

Clifton isn't really even all that injury prone. He has only missed I think 4 games due to injury (all last year) since he came back from the Sapp hit. He may get banged up some but he pretty much always plays. The guy is one tough SOB. He is penalty prone for sure but I don't think 4 games in however many years is sufficient enough to call the dude injury prone.

He's had some kind of injury most of the time, but as I said, doesn't seem to miss many games.

In his 10 year career, he's played in 143 games, started 138. He's missed 17 games, which is what? 1.7 games a year? 6 games of which are related to the cheap shot by Warren Sapp in 2002.

After coming back from the Sapp injury, he only missed two games in the following six seasons.

So I say again. Tauscher I disagree with the notion he's injury prone.
Clifton is injury prone, but doesn't seem to miss much game time from them.

And I add again, I don't think we should usher these fellas out of the door simply because they are old. I say we groom younger BETTER replacements and when the youth talent level exceeds the veterans ... THEN we make the switch.

Right now, Tauscher and Clifton are working for us, let's stick with it and ride it out while grooming their replacements.
