I love this pick... this guy should be able to work his way into the lineup relatively soon.. maybe not this year.. but it won't take a long time.

He's the opposite of Bigby. With Bigby, Green Bay has an in the box hard hitting run stopper. With Burnett, Green Bay has a sideline to sideline safety. Burnett is well built and does a good job of reading the play and reacting to it. He's a good athlete and has no problem running down receivers. He's not afraid to get down and dirty in run support either.

What makes this pick interesting is the fact that Green Bay has a safety very similar to Burnett in Nick Collins. This tells me Green Bay is done with an in the box safety and they rather have two center fielders in the back of their secondary.

When you think about the way the NFL is today, that's smart. I think this is a good pick. He could start this season if he makes the transition to the NFL. Obviously rookies struggle with the speed of the game.

I still hope they add Rolle tomorrow sometime.. he could be a hybrid sort for us.. play that under zone.. physical enough to play towards the back of the box and if as to can man up on the Tightend..

It would give Capers a ton of toys to tinker with.

It's interesting so many people view Morgan Burnett as the antithesis to Atari Bigby on here.

I'm not too familiar with college prospects, so I like to read a lot of what scouts are saying.

Especially in McGinn's scout notebook on Burnett, the consensus seems to be he is Atari Bigby 2.0. Things all scout say is he takes bad angles, goes for the big hit too many times, and is liable to struggle covering one on one. These are all gripes many people have on here with Bigby, too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not as down on Bigby as many others are. I just thought it was interesting seeing two radically different views crop up. From a needs stand point, Burnett provides us with depth we DESPERATELY needed at Safety.

Interesting. I think he's a much better athlete than Bigby and reacts to the ball better as well. Poor angles is something I noticed about Collins as well early in his career, but he's gotten better every year at coming up and supporting the run. Morgan is more polished coming out. I wouldn't be shocked if he started. I see him subbing in on passing downs for sure, so at the very least, it gives Green Bay a lot of flexibility.

I'm talking about the scout analysis that bob McGinn does on each pick. There, consensus reads like you just drafted the next Atari Bigby.

Other places, it's as if you've drafted a player with the potential of Nick Collins.

I'm going to go with what the coaches have to say about him. Judging from Darren Perry's comments, dude can be a player from year 1.

Extremely nice pick, I had him as a second-rounder, so a move up was nice to get him in the third round. Our front seven can handle the run, so getting another "centerfielder" like porky88 says was a good move.

I like this pick:

1. Dreds (we are the team with the most long haired freaks and we must keep up the tradition).

2. We all saw what happens when one of our good safeties goes down and we try to replace them with some other peep not ready.

3. This guy is a ball hawk; not the best at run support but a ball hawk. And we know how int can lead to game changing wins.
it is said that a team with a +2 differential on the turnover ratio usually wins the game.

again weather he replaces bigby or not what we got is a guy whom can step in.
