There are a lot more guys worth watching. Just not worth trading up for. Ghee is a very interesting prospect. So is Donovan Warren. Nate Allen and Chad Jones at S. Just not guys who I'd give up a whole lot picks for.

I really hope the Packers go with a defensive guy in the 2nd. For the names I would think of, there would have to be a trade up. Taylor Mays or Sergio Kindle.

Same here. My dream would be Kindle or Mays. Though I wouldn't mind a RB in Dexter McCluster or Joe McKnight. Another OT wouldn't be too shabby either.

Unless Mays slips or the Packers see another Safety that won't be there in the 3rd... this might be the pick Eric Norwood.

Quick Notes I see with the kid...

Good bulk with a stout frame
Strong and powerful
Outstanding blitzer
Good tackler
Nice range
Does a great job in pursuit
Plays with terrific leverage
Uses his hands well
Good balance
Instinctive
Fantastic motor
Ultra competitive
Team leader
Tough
Durable
Productive

But my favorite is McCluster.

You would have to believe that both Spitz and Colledge will be dangled given the versatility of Bulaga, and the fact that he will be groomed for a year or two, barring injury to Clifton, and can fill the LG interior spot.

Spitz has some fans around the league, and might allow us to move up to a player or spot we covet.

I can not imagine that we'd put him at guard. It's as good as certain that Clifton will go down somewhere during this season. Bulaga should be ready at LT to step in then. I really don't want him plugged in everywhere around the line.

We're not in a position to trade O-linemen away. Especially not one who could very well be the starter at LG.

Norwood got alot of love from SackSeers. I'd be down with the pick.

Does McCluster return kicks? That highlight video was pretty damn good, I'm just not sure what better compliments our current running game, a speed back or a bruiser.

Personally, I think we need a player that is electric in space.. someone that we can dump it off to and watch him create 10 to 90 yards in that space.. IMO.. McCluster is a Spillar lite.

I seen him take over game on offense and special teams.. so yes he would help our ST.

I really like the idea of Eric Norwood. Very underrated talent. Safety and a dynamic RB/returner would be nice.

Taylor Mays, Dexter McCluster, Myron Lewis, Koa Misi, Sergio Kindle, Joe McKnight, Charles Brown, Roger Saffold, and Larry Asante might be names to watch.

"doddpower" wrote:

Yeah, I don't think McCluster makes it very far in the 2nd round.

Also, I probably wouldn't have a problem with a trade up to grab Mays.

I'm excited.

I'm with you. I'd like to see a trade up, and I'd be happy with Mays, Kindle or McCluster with that pick. So much good, good talent still waiting.

So much changes because Bulaga fell to #23.

I never thought he'd be available, so I never even contemplated this "what if?"

But one of the biggest things I like about him is that he is truly versatile. To my mind he is automatically an improvement at LG. Unless he tanks in training camp/preseason, that's where he starts opening day. If/when Clifton goes down, he slides over to LT. Long term he may be LT (or RT, if Tausch goes down, for that matter), but right now there's a good bet he wins a starting guard slot.

So, what do I want on day 2? I want another tackle who people think can play guard, or a center/guard that people think can play guard/center at a high level. I know people don't like "musical chairs" on the OL -- neither do I -- but given the amount of questions that surrounds ANYONE who has not played in the NFL yet and EVERYONE except Sitton and maybe Wells on the current roster -- the strategy that makes most sense to me in this draft is to pick up OL players with an eye to "either position A or position B").

The Bulaga pick makes it all possible. So, if you're listening to me, Ted, find a way to get another one of those versatile OL tonight, and maybe even a project third one tomorrow.

And then Mike can say to everyone on the OL except Sitton: "Best four start on opening day. Have at it, boys."

I don't know about anyone else, but that would make me a *very* happy fan.

How about you, foster, you fellow-OL-nut?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
