Just posted at the press -gazette:
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has not been cleared to play against Green Bay, meaning the Seahawks will likely start Charlie Frye against the Packers.

Coach Mike Holmgren made the announcement after practice on Friday. Hasselbeck was again a spectator watching practice wearing a neon green baseball hat, while Frye took the majority of the snaps. Hasselbeck bruised his right knee last Sunday against the New York Giants.

Holmgren said earlier this week that Hasselbeck has to play for the 1-3 Seahawks. He says there still is a chance Hasselbeck will be cleared for Sundays game, but hes moving forward with plans that Frye is the starter.

As bad as our run defense is right now I don't think it really matters who the quarterback is.

Hasselback is a pro bowl QB. Him being out is sucks for the Seahawks, but is great news in GB. Right now, we need to get a wind, one more loss and our team may not be able to recover.

I agree. It doesnt matter if Hasselback is a pro bowl QB. We got beat by a rookie no problem last week.

Football 101: If the QB is not as good, the defense can commit more players to defending against the run. The Packers are much better off facing a journeyman rather than a Pro Bowl QB.

At the end of the Falcons game, when they were trying to run out the clock, we knew they were going to run and still could not stop them.

On a 2nd and 9 with with 1:49 left, Turner pushed the pile for 8 yards.

I understand what you're saying, but our run defense is REALLY bad. Plus, ANY quarterback can beat you if you give him all day to throw. We don't have a pass rush either.

Charlie Frye isn't all that bad either, I've been thinking for some time now he might develop to be a pretty good heir to Hasslebeck.

Like ya first we need to get to the playoffs of course but I want to know every week how my team will be matched up against other teams and there real qb so I could have an idea on how good we are or not
