Yeah, Childress did an awesome job with tricking the defense's into focusing eight men in the box to slow down one of the best RB's in the league. Yep, pure genius.

I'll give credit where it's due. Mike McCarthy is a dang fine QB coach. Look at Favre's '07 year after a few years where he looked pretty bad (and one I'd like to forget).

Hard to say what would have happened if the Niners took Rodgers instead of Smith. Would Rodgers be an elite QB on the Niners?

I guess Chilly must be a super qb guru if your trying to use Favre to credit Mike McCarthy, Yes Rodgers has surprised me and I am happy he is our qb but I'm still not sold on Fred Flintstone as this so called qb guru.

Hey motherf#cker, you aren't allowed to call him that! :tongue3:

You are too much of a GD generalized hater, and now you are using MY derogatory shit (when I am trying to prove some point) to your GD advantage! wtf, you friggin' thievin' bastard...go play with your Ted Thompson head!

...Talk about gettin' bit in the ass by somethin', lol

I don't care who's coaching God, he will throw up the quail when the big game is on the line. He's proven that over and over and over again.

As for Chilly, he's a decent coach but he sure has some Napoleon characteristics to him. Must be killing him to let Favre "take over" things.

I think playing on the most talented roster in the league helped Favre more than anything. That plus motivation and maybe Darrelle Bevell.

McCarthy has coached Joe Montana and Brett Favre. He's developed Aaron Rodgers.

Childress has coached Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre. He's developed..... nobody. I guess McNabb, but I think that has more to do with Andy Reid than Childress IMO.

I think Childress was the QB Coach for Donovan for a year or two, then was the OC for two or three years.

Actually, Mike McCarthy just missed Montana. Montana retired right before Mike McCarthy was the Chief's QB coach. He got Bono, Elvis Grbac, and Gannon with the Chiefs.

The year he was QB coach of Favre was '99 and that was one of Favre's forgettable years.
Mike McCarthy was hated by Niner fans as they sucked offensively.

Then he came to Green Bay as HC and Niner fans were already feeling horrible for me. What a surprise he helped turn around Favre's faltering career and actually gave us 8-8, 13-3, 6-10, then 11-5 records, with all three of the last years in the top 5 in Offense.

As down as I am on MM, I'm realizing I'm harder on him than I should be. The numbers clearly show his performance has been outstanding on the Packers. In the past 3 years, we were a +144, +39, and +164 teams. The +39 year is even more amazing as we were only 6-10. I think that record was a fluke.

As for Favre, yes the roster is talented. But did you watch every game last year he played? I did. Favre was amazing, completing passes that nobody else in the NFL could have completed. His deep ball was gorgeous and he was regularly throwing bullets between defenders. I think more than Chilly and Bevell combined was Favre's chip on his shoulder.

Keep in mind that zombie loves Brett more than ... probably his wife, lol.

His comments on Brett are an exaggeration. Brett's still my 2nd all time favorite player, he did play very well, but there were a lot of throws his guy was wide open. Then you'd hear some slapnuts on TV or in a chat say "wow look at that throw, only Brett could throw that". Wrong, there's LOT's of QB's who can make those throws. Consider the time in the pocket, the focus on the little known RB, Adrian Peterson, the WR doing a great job of getting open and a how about that controlled climate?

Yes, Brett was on top of his game last year, but let's not be hazy about the facts. Objectivity is sorely lacked when some of us are talking about how well or bad Brett did. Brett had an amazing year, but let's not forget it was setup well with his surrounding cast. Why do you think Brett desired to be with the Vikings so strongly? Oh yeah, some knuckleheads still think it was pure revenge.

There's no such thing as a throw only Brett Favre could make. Never has been.

Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol

buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
