I've heard that Randy Moss admitted to using the Packers as a bargaining tool to get an offer elsewhere. Maybe he would have been interested, but with New England on the board, there is no way in hell he went to the Packers instead. He wanted a championship and NE was the obvious best choice for that at the time.
Anyway, WR is hardly our weak spot. I don't even know if Favre would have been the smart QB he was last year with Randy Moss running down the sidelines. And Randy surely wouldn't have been able to snag that INT vs. the Giants.

To be honest, I have heard Moss say things that contradicted. Yes, I heard him say he used us as a bargaining tool. But I've also heard him say he considered us, but we weren't saying the right things.

I don't know what to believe. Keep in mind, Randy Moss isn't exactly a rocket scientist. I could have smoked crack and done circles around his Wonderlic score.

Having Moss though would have been nice because there may not have been an OT in the Giants game and NE certainly wouldn't have been 16-0 without Moss.

But it never happened, so no use crying over spilled milk.

On the brightside, we still have Gregorious Jennings. The WR core is one of the bright spots on the Packers '08 team right now.

Moss could choose where he wanted to go. He could block a trade to Green Bay if he wanted too.

I heard Moss at the Super Bowl press conference say he wanted to go to Green Bay, but felt the situation would be to difficult because the Packers were more hesitant about him. They told him that you'll be the No. 2 and Donald Driver is the guy. He's our No. 1. He's the guy.

However, he did say Green Bay was his first choice at first.

New England made him feel more comfortable. They didn't put any pressure on him and he had good talks with everyone.

I pretty much believe we could of had Moss. I think we could of had him in the off season THIS YEAR if we offered the right kind of cash, but unforunately this is a move we didn't make.

With that said, I don't think Moss would of gave us a Super Bowl ring. Ever hear of the Butterfly Effect? Change one thing and everything changes. Kind of what I think would happen. Maybe we get the No. 1 seed and end up playing the Giants in round 2 instead of Seattle. Maybe the Giants beat us that day since the Sunday after, know snow really fell and that's when the game would of been scheduled. Not the Saturday when we played Seattle.

My point being, there is no way to know what would of happen. Just like there is no way to know what would of happen if we drafted Barry Sanders instead of Tony Mandrich.

Good points, it is my understanding also that if we wanted Moss we had him. I still believe we win the SB if we have him. As I said, I belive he would have opened up the running game and if not the passing game would have been that much better still. He was no problem in NE and he would not have been here. Production would have determined who was #1 receiver but would not have made any diffenrence because Driver, Moss and Jennig would have all been productive. We also could have used our rd 2 pick for another player this draft, maybe a DT, although I like Jordy. Lastly I would have loved to see Moss toast Sharper.

How about the Raiders stealing Howard and his MVP trophy?

Desmond Howard left the Packers because he wanted to play starter at WR, but ended up being regulated to KR/PR with lots of cash. 🙂

You make a good point tripp (in so far as Rodgers should get blamed just like Favre did for those untimely errors).

"all_about_da_packers" wrote:

No he shouldn't. He's a first year starter making first year starter errors, those errors including 3 TDs and over 300 yards with a bad shoulder.

When he's making first year starter mistakes in his 8th year as starter, then yeah, go nuts. Till then...no.

On a related note, I am astonished Rodgers missed a wide open Greg Jennings in the third Q. Unbelievable.

"all_about_da_packers" wrote:

I was disappointed with Aaron on that too, then I was disappointed in Greg for not following one of the most basic WR rules: When a play breaks down, run towards your QB. Instead, Greg kinda stood there, waiting. Running towards him(and gaining speed and momentum) never crossed your mind, Greg?

Unbelievable.

I guess a 2-3 team needs a scapegoat(because apparently a lot of people think 2-3 means the season is over), and it might as well be Aaron. I'm sure if we lose some more close games, we can get Thompson in the mix too.

I've seen and heard people (seriously) blaming Rodgers, and I've unfortunately seen a lot of team abandoning. A lot of this stupid crazy talk happens in gameday chats around the internet, and I think some of these people were even sober(aka sinners).

The one good thing is for some reason GB always seems to start seasons off kinda slow.

excuse me but i put the blame on the over hyped "Mr. Rodgers" Its always the qb that gets the blame, and i don't care this is his first year starting because i remember people before the season saying we won't have no drop off this year from last seeing the only thing that changed was the qb. Quit making excuses for him after all he did tell us to shut up lol.

Damn it felt good to get back to myself and pretending i like Rodgers and with saying that he better have a 400 yd 4-5 td game against a very very weak team in Seattle
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
