I know. It is stupid to even think of blaming him.

While he played well, when we were three down and need to sustain a drive with 5 min left, while off balance, he heaved a ill advised 3rd down desperation throw into tripple coverage that was pick off. Atlanta then drove the 20 or so yards and scored the winning touchdown.

Sound familiar?

First off, Calpackfan, please don't go on anymore telling us how smart and good decision making Aaron is and how much better he is than our former leader. In a clutch situation, he threw a stupid pass and it cost us dearly. Of course it didn't cost us the game, just as any one interception didn't cost us a game at the end of last year.

My point is this. No one player wins or loses a game. Ever. Be it today or last January.

Also want to note, I am a big Aaron fan, I feel he will be one of the top QB's in the league in the near future.

I hear you, Tripp. When Favre did that in the past, the headline would read "Favre throws late INT in loss to X" regardless of whether that was the deciding play or not.

"Trippster" wrote:

Most logical people would post the headline regardless of who the QB was

"Defense falters as Packers lose third straight"

I agree with you though. We all know that know matter what people will try and put this on Rodgers too, just like they did Favre for his blunders in the past. That's just the way it is.

Just for fun I went to compare Rothlesbergers stats this season to Rodgers.
Mostly because they both have injured shoulders and both played through it this Sunday.

Big Ben was a hero last night because of the win in a close game.
Aaron Rodgers is getting blasted by many because we lost. (Not you Trip)

RODGERS.
CMP 25 ATT 37 YDS 313 CMP% 67.6 TD 3 INT 1 RAT 109.4

BIG BEN
CMP 26 ATT 41 YDS 309 CMP% 63.4 TD 3 INT 1 RAT 100.6

Steelers didn't have the penalties. They had a better running game. They had a better game defensively. Ben got sacked and so did Rodgers. Neither team is protecting their QB very well.

The big difference? The Steelers won and Packers lost.

It wasn't due to poor QB play though.

 i think the blame is in all hands of the team, you all gave solid points of the whys d-line they just give up to many yards just hope they can figure out the problem as a whole and correct it i dont care how seahawks are playing if they play like they have these past two weeks they will have a field day with the pack

At the end of the 5th week, if you aren't excited to have Aaron Rodgers as your starting quarter back for the next however many years, then you're on something. You can find plays in games that go one way or another, but the way he's played in his first 5 games are giving me much more of a Montana-Young comparison than Marino-Fiedler...

I missed the game (on vacation in California with no access to the game anywhere near me). I see a number of posts in here about Rodgers underthrowing Jennings, etc. and I saw the INT in the 4th quarter come up about 10 yards short of the WR. Do you think his shoulder injury limited his strength on a number of those throws?

His touchdown to driver showed no issues with his shoulder either

I still don't understand this thread, I guess the person who started it wanted to make sure that despit the good numbers put up vs. the Falcons, that Aaron takes some blame for the loss. This team isn't very good right now and QB play is the least of the worries. Lets look at the real problems here please.

It is laced with Sarcasm.. Trip truly isn't pinning the loss on Rodgers.

It stems from the overwhelming notion post Championship game that Favre cost us the game. People keyed on the interception as the only reason we lost the game.

Many failed to place blame on the Oline, the DC for lack of adjustments, dropped passes, or Burris and Eli playing out of their mind.

It was just more of a point than anything.

Kind of hard to pull the trigger when Moss never gave you the gun to begin with...

Well, this all goes on whom you want to believe.

Do you trust Randy Moss and what he says? If you don't, I understand.

But if you do, he was saying that when he talked to Ted Thompson , Ted Thompson wasn't saying "all the right things." He was mentioning that GB is DD's town, and Moss wouldn't be the #1 WR, and he wasn't talking about money. Now the Pats, they went straight to the money.

I've heard that Randy Moss admitted to using the Packers as a bargaining tool to get an offer elsewhere. Maybe he would have been interested, but with New England on the board, there is no way in hell he went to the Packers instead. He wanted a championship and NE was the obvious best choice for that at the time.
Anyway, WR is hardly our weak spot. I don't even know if Favre would have been the smart QB he was last year with Randy Moss running down the sidelines. And Randy surely wouldn't have been able to snag that INT vs. the Giants.
