The camera was on McCarthy because he was there and he's a head coach. I didn't see any serious discussion about Green Bay selecting a receiver on the NFL Network. I may of missed it though, but none the less, you're putting too much into McCarthy watching Bryant. He's watched all the offensive lineman too. I guarantee you that.

McCarthy may push for Bryant and GB may take him if he's there, but ultimately, Ted Thompson makes the final call on the pick and he was at the USC pro day today. Might want to put some stock into that as well and start thinking Brown, Mays, or Griffen at No. 23. Although once again, I wouldn't put much stock into that either. It's all about cover your tracks. The Packers do their homework as well as any team in the league. They no the ins and outs of the draft.

Why don't just draft a fucking quarterback with the pick.

I'm sorry. Unless this Dez Bryant is the next Don Hutson/Jerry Rice, spending a first rounder on a WR this year is a fucking stupid idea.

Drafting WR before the fourth round is a fucking stupid idea.

G'damnit. The draft is still almost a month a way and I've already lost the ability to be civil about this. :)

Aside to Kevin: you think the "p*d level" cracks got old last year. you imagine how many of them if the team goes WR instead of OL again?

If he goes WR in round level, I'm ratcheting up my "what it takes for Ted and Mike to satisfy me this year" to "Super Bowl or bust."

And there's definitely going to be a midwest shortage of horsemeat.

I have been banging the drum for a couple of years now that, for all our reputation of having a vaunted wide receiver corps, we are only an injury away from having a mediocre to poor receiving corps. After Driver and Jennings, the drop-off in production is truly precipitous. Now you can argue that it's due to a lack of opportunity, and that's fine, but the fact is, the only one to noticeably step up when Jennings, for example, has faded has been Finley.

I'm not saying that I want Dez. I'm just saying it wouldn't be a risible pick.

I think it's interesting that this will be the second consecutive year that dhazer rolls into the draft with a controversial red-jerseyed WR in his signature graphic. 😉

Sorry, doesn't have enough legs. You may be right that we are an injury away from having a mediocre receiving corps. But one injury to the OL (to Sitton say), and its worse than mediocre. And that's listening to all the optimists about the OL.

WR in round 1 just doesn't make sense. Any more than QB in round 1 does because we're one injury away from mediocrity at QB.

Whew. I just figured out why Mike was in Texas.

NFP- Several potential first rounders in action today

Good smokescreen Mike!

Had me worried, there, lol

Do they see him as a kick returner? Rumors have the Packers looking to draft a kick returner/RB type earlier. I agree the Packers could use a Percy Harvin/Joshua Cribbs/Desean Jackson like player (especially with blackmon being made of glass). However, I would rather the Packers attempt to address that later in the draft.

The only thing missing is Dhaze coming in with HIS usual bullshit, along with Porky making a perfectly reasoned argument on why we should pull the trigger on a Dez at 23.

+1 for the art.

Now I get to sweat this one for 3 weeks, lol

You're right. Where's Dhazer? Bryant could be our new Crabtree.

Anybody besides me notice that Eugene Parker represents Dez Bryant?

Who the hell is Eugene Parker?

One might ask...

He's Michael Crabtree's agent.

Dez: "I'm the best wide receiver in the nation."

Parker: "Yes, you are the best!"

Dez: "That's BULLSHIT me being passed until the 23rd pick, I should have been like 3rd."

Parker: "Yes, you should have been 3rd."

Dez: "I want 3rd money."

Parker: "You got a twin brother named Michael?"

Too be fair Parker represents Greg Jennings too.

Yes, I doubt that having Eugene Parker as his agent would be the deciding factor in whether or not the Packers drafted Dez.

Bruce Campbell vs. Dez Bryant

Who do you want?

If that's the scenario.

From what I've seen Nelson and Jones are a really good 3 & 4. Jennings has never faded, just double teamed, hence Driver's incredible start last year. How the hell are we going to put all those guys with so much money tied to them on the field? Nelson and Jones would start on most teams, if you look at their depth charts. So why would we want 5 starting caliber WRs when we have one starting caliber tackle, and he's old as shit (talking about Tauscher).

I think Bruce Campbell might be faster, lol

What about the fact that all of the game film on Dez was when he weighed 210, but now he weighs 220, and looked (and timed) slow? That wasn't me, btw- that was the former GM of the skins talking.

I already said that Mike could be pulling a smokescreen move, due diligence, whatever.

The reference to Mike is that Mayock was asked where he might fall to.

Mayock could have said 22 (logical--NE can use a WR)

but NOOOOOOOOO!

He had to say 23.... THEN the camera showed Mike McCarthy drooling over his stopwatch.

That is what set me off in the first place.

BPA?

The 2009 no red flags pre-suspension 210 lbs fantastic film Dex Bryant
didn't run his jib guy

It's not 2009.

Bruce Campbell.. the 314 lbs 6'6" 4.85 40 (pretty amazing) 34 rep bench 36.25 armed Maryland Offensive tackle

Bruce Campbell in a landslide.

NE passing on Dez Bryant at 22 and us taking him at 23 while leaving Campbell on the board

What a complete friggin' sad joke that would be.

Martha Careful (2h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (12h) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (12h) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (12h) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (12h) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (16h) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (16h) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (16h) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (19h) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (19h) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (19h) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (19h) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (19h) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (19h) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (19h) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (19h) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (20h) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (20h) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (20h) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (21h) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (21h) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (21h) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (21h) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (21h) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (22h) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (22h) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (22h) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (22h) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23h) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
