I really wish we could get Kyle Wilson from Boise...that would be a great 1st round pick. However, I think we would have to trade up to get him, and Ted Thompson isn't know for doing that.

Maybe we could get Jerry Hughes...that would be a good pick up. We may even be able to trade back a couple of spots and still get him while picking up an extra pick later in the draft.

Brian Bulaga will be a future starting LT in this league. Hopefully we will get lucky enough for him to fall to us.

Any of these three players would be great picks for us, and I think if any of them are available when we pick, we should take him.

Who or what position do we need the most? Well, that will be up to Ted Thompson on draft day.

I found this interesting.

I have talked to 5 different teams and all of them said Haden won't go in top 10

Any chance Joe Haden falls to 23? - Yes

It's not some random guy I'm taking this from. He used to be a scout for the Ravens and the Browns before he started his own site.

Now, this could be our Aaron Rodgers at CB. If he's there, he'd be an absolute steal. I don't care too much about his 40 time. His tape still shows a kid who can turn into an elite corner. And if he really is too slow, we could always try to plug him in at safety.

I know that CB isn't the sexy pick for the Packers, but this'd be a great pick for us.

Yes, Joe Haden would be a GREAT selection, but I highly doubt the he will be available. I would still take Kyle Wilson over him just because of his 40 time, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

All the 40 time is, is how good you are at track, pretty much. It means nothing on the football field.

Haden showed up in college, and if he was too slow then he wouldn't have been so good. It's not like NFL receivers are a LOT more faster than college ones. There are MANY fast college receivers.

People will regret not taking Haden. To be fair, once you're out of the NFL, you're out of the loop. Teams use guys all the time to spread false information. The people doing the reporting don't know it, but that's the way the NFL works.

I would take Haden if he's there. I'd trade up for him if he falls out of the top 15. I think he's that good. Size, cover skills, tackling, and technique. It's all there, but the 40, which is a sign of poor recover speed. Something Al Harris never had by the way.

Right now, I think Jahvid Best, Charles Brown, Trent Williams and a trade up for Bryan Bulaga if he falls are the three best possibilities.

Unfortunately the Pack have difficulties addressing their needs via Free Agency so I am hoping we can address our O-line situation via the draft and take the best Tackle with our first pick. If the value is just too low I hope we go Safety or find a player to help improve our pass rush. I think we will go running back, but I just don't think Ted will use a 1st round pick for one when teams are showing the value that 2nd and 3rd round rated Backs are making.

TSN mock has us getting Bulaga, but I just can't see him dropping that far when more and more teams are looking for safe picks because of the high salaries these picks command.

Haden is listed at 5'10 3/4". That doesn't denote great size to me. If he really is that size it can be OK. If they are exagerating and he is really 5'9 1/2" I would stay away from him. I believe in TT's BPA drafting. I hope a good LT that plays for the next 12 years in GB is the BPA. Bulaga could fill that bill.

Regardless, I hope we get a good/Pro Bowl player that we don't have to worry about that position for 10-12 years or more. That is so valuable.

The guy I would love in the 2nd round woutd be Jared Veldheer OT. Small school player that did very well at the combine plus he is huge. 6'8" and athletic.

I read that Haden is 5'11" on the NFL combine website. I don't know if that is official or he skiipped that part. Plus he will have a pro day to run his forty again. Haden was one of the top performers in the 60 yard shuttle also.

Mucky Tundra (9h) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (10h) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (10h) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
