This team isn't in desperate need for Veteran leadership. It really isn't in much need of any leadership at all.

We needed a veteran leader on that defense to step up against the Steelers or the Cards last season...
Barnett talks a good game but IMO rarely delivers in the leadership category.
Woodson is more of a leader with his play than taking the reins and getting the team focused..
Kampman and Harris in my opinion are/were the closest thing we had to a leader on the defense.. I have some hope for Matthews in this department.
IMO... we need a polarizing player of this defense to take the step to the next level.. a guy that has the defensive players ear and they take on their attitude...
That is why I am hoping they find a strong football smart safety to pair with Collins.. a veteran that can help settle these younger corners when the opposition throws a curve instead of a strike....
But since this is a Fargas thread... and last time I checked he didn't play safety.. that point is mute in this thread.
But at the same time.. I don't think you can ever have to little in the veteran leadership department unless they can't co-exist.
