Ohno got his 8th overall medal and the US is now tied for the most medals by a US team. They will break that with the hockey match. The could break the record for the most medals at any winter Olympics which is now held by the Germans but they have to medal in 3 of the last 4 events.
They still have Men's Pursuit Speed Skating, 4 Man Bobsled (currently in first place after two runs with two track records.) and the Hockey Gold Medal game vs Canada. There is also the 50 K Cross Country Skiing race.

Nice. Don't know how the chances end up with getting 3 of 4, but I know for sure the Hockey team will get a medal, so I guess you can say 2 of 3.

I just looked up the playoff bracket for the hockey teams.. Funny, they predicted a USA vs. Canada rematch last Sunday, now they are getting it this Sunday.

Well it's been an awesome Olympics for us Canuks too. We have just tied the record for most Gold medals in a Winter Games with a chance to break it in the hickey game. I'm proud we have become a country that doesn't take pride in racking up Bronze medals like we use to settle for but actually shoot for the top.
The hockey game will without a doubt be the most watched event in Canadian history. Being at home could be good but also could hurt as the team has looked tight in a lot of opening periods. On paper if we play our best it shouldn't be in trouble but one thing we've seen is talent isn't everything. The Americans have come together so tight and look good even though other then Miller they really have no stars but they got huge heart. Should be a close game but I'm hoping for a repeat of the last time we met in the Gold Medal game in Salt Lake and the Women's game 2 nights ago. Either way I give full credit to the Americans as they came in under the radar

Hey we let you win in 2002 at Salt Lake. It is your turn to suck it up and let us win.

Cmon wpr it's all we got. I at least can handle it but there will be a huge mourning if we lose this game for most of the Country. I bet 90% of Canadians would trade in all our medals for this one game. I don't really give a !@# if we won at some luge or skeleton or all the other gimmick sports. This is the only thing that matters.
On a sensitive note the moment of the games was seeing our female figure skater winning a bronze after losing her mom last Sunday to a heart attack. I gotta admit even I couldn't stop the tears amd normally I hate figure skating especially men. No Offense but there was one American guy who just gave me the creeps

Yes Joannie Rochette's bronze performance was very moving.

If the national identity is so tied to this men's hockey game maybe it would be best for them to lose. It will help all of Canada grow emotionally.

(YOU WON THE WOMEN'S GAME DON'T BE GREEDY.) :tongue3:

Finland did a nice job beating Slovakia earlier today, after getting viciously raped by USA earlier. I hope you guys win the gold, Canadians can go suck it.

Whoever bashed Backstrom earlier was wrong, Kipper was the goalie for the first 4, including the super ugly first one. Backstrom played fine.
This is a placeholder

Sweet. I was trying to get you to drop the gloves and have a go at it. I won't even see most of the game. I have to go pick up my Mother from the airport and take her to see her newest great grand baby before taking her home.

Man you're a good son, you could pass as a Canadian eh?
Been watching them preview the game for 4 hours I say lets get it on already.
If I look at it strictly from the health of the game of hockey it would actually be good to see the Americans win. Listening to radio station I can get from Minny I've heard lots of people phone in saying they're not big hockey fans but this is the best hockey they've ever seen. This could do for hockey in the States like the Miracle on Ice in 1980

Wow looks like tickets are going for between 5-10 thousand. I know a guy who was offered 3000$ for his and he just laughed at the guy who offered it
