It's worthy of mention that

a) The Packers have at least one pick in every round.

b) The Packers traded their 2010 7th round pick to the Jets in exchange for the Jets' 2009 3rd round pick; however, in the wake of the Favre fiasco, the 7th round pick was returned to the Packers.

c) The Packers traded J.J. Jansen to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a conditional (presumably 2010) 7th round pick. Given that he subsequently played in all 16 games for the Panthers, it is safe to assume that conditions of the trade were met. However, this exact nature of the pick (i.e., 2010 vs. 2011) has yet to be announced.

d) Compensatory picks in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds have yet to be announced.

Our compensatory pick (singular, as of this writing) is projected as a 6th from what I have seen. We can hope.

OK---

The game seems to have lost steam. Here is the big board I chose for the purposes of evaluating our picks.

I chose NFLdraftscout.com from CBS Sports. Most "draftniks" don't use it, because it is somewhat "dry" in it's commentary, imo. Let's look how we have done in comparison to their opinion so far through 5 rounds:

Scenario 1

How do you think everyone has done? I will continue to link as above if folks want to continue through to the 7th. Those that have already posted are free to "go again", as far as I'm concerned.

We are on Round 6a. I think this is a useful excercise IF we start talking past round one, which is hard to do, because a full mock is a complete bitch to execute, so at least this MIGHT get someone talking and thinking past our first pick (and ramifications depth-wise/need wise, etc when they try and "fill in holes")

It's a thought.

Scenario 1 - 1st Campbell T, 2nd Warren CB, 3rd LeGarrette Blount RB, 4th Myron Rolle S.

Scenario 2 - 1st Graham OLB, 2nd Veldheer T, 3rd Nate Allen S, 4th Vince Oghobaase DE/DT.

Scenario 3 - 1st Mays S, 2nd Saffold T, 3rd George Selvie DE/OLB, 4th Akwasi Owusu-Ansah CB(KR)

Thought I'd bring some variety in scenario 2 and 3, instead of going with Oghobaase twice.

haha, I think it's more likely in Scenario 1 if we switched Blount with Rolle. Rolle was actually my first choice but I thought he may actually be gone by the time we pick in the 3rd.

He's all over the board because of "dedication issues".

The kid got a Rhodes Scholarship, of course he took the chance to do that.

If you ask me, he's 2nd round material, but I've seen him going anywhere between the 2nd and 5th round. Like you said, though, there ought to be a team who takes a flier on him before our 3rd round pick.

"Stevetarded" wrote:

I think the bigger knock on Rolle is his speed verses the time off on his Rhodes excursion..

If he can post some decent speed numbers prior to the draft.. I think the kid may climb back into the 2nd round..

"Rockmolder" wrote:

If he works his butt off and shows that he's dedicated to football and runs a 4.4 40, his draft stock will soar.

You're right. I think that his speed might be an even bigger factor. Both of those "issues" are holding him back right now, though.

I heard that instead of taking the wonderlic, he was asked by the NFL to go ahead and correct any mistakes he might discover. :thumbleft:

I'm less than surprised to see that I reached on my 2nd round picks - mostly because just about any OT left at that point is going to be a reach due to the large number I expect to see go in the 1st. Still, I'm pleased to see I didn't reach terribly far.

Funny to see CBS rank Mays 2nd @ his position, while I just read that a few teams aren't even looking at him as a Safety, but rather as an OLB. I can't decide whether the huge range of opinion about him is a good thing or a bad thing.

I've decided I'm just not smart enough to follow this thread, much less participate in the game.

So I'll just say you guys never draft enough OL (since that dead horse fits any draft thread by definition).

Ya, but you are chewing up a draft pick, when I was talking udfa.

Like I said, I was on him as an unknown, not as a pick.

Your boy is the same friggin' size, isn't he?
