No, you build a superbowl team around a 40 year old that maybe would have given us more of a chance to go to the superbowl this year. You never "not" take that chance. :)

We tried to, but he retired prematurely and as any and every business does, they had to move forward. Which they did, then our LEGEND decided he wanted to play again after he through the team under the bus on national TV and disrespected the organization.

Kind of hard to just welcome him back with open arms after that and yet the Packers tried, but as BRETT said HIMSELF, there were things HE should have just looked past, but COULDN'T, thus he left no other option other than being traded.

That's not saying I think we have a better chance at winning with any other QB. I said from the start, Brett gave us the best chance to win, period. But let's be real about this and look at the whole picture, not just what we are tied to emotionally.

I understand what you are saying Zero.. 🙂 I hear you when you say Favre retired and the Packers moved on, yes thats what they had to do at that time, but when Favre wanted to come back, wouldnt you have still sat him down and said that they were disappointed in how he handled this situation that he retired to early, but then took him back because it gave us more of a shot this year at winning a superbowl. Just a question. Superbowls dont come around to often and if your given a chance dont you take it then and now?

By no stretch am I saying that anyone is innocent or handled the Brett retirement / come back saga efficiently. From what I understand you don't mix personal stuff with professional stuff and that is what I think happened her by ALL parties involved.

The thing about the Super Bowl, people think because we were one over time away that it was a given we'd be in the following year. Thats far from the truth, look at history to give indication.

With that said, I feel that Brett burnt some bridges with his 'i dont trust Ted' comments on national TV and you can NOT have your LEADER of your team NOT having confidence in the man primarily responsible for assembling your team.

Players are human, NOT machines. The human element of leadership escapes many when discussing 'why not jus bring Brett back?'. When the undeniable leader of your team has no faith in the organizations GM... it really throws a wrench into things.

James Campen told Brett "back them into a corner, they will take you back". Brett was told that, according to his own words. So why not back them into a corner? Come back? What did he do? He instead threw the GM under the bus like a child who wants a toy, but wants others to offer it to him without asking for it.

Again, I think personal stuff was mixed with professional stuff and that is why we don't have our favorite QB playing for OUR team this year. And that I have to put more fault on the Packers for because they are to be held more accountable for such things.

Both parties were wrong on how this situation was handled, I totally agree. But we have to move on because both did. I hope both teams do well. 🙂

I don't much care how the Jets do, but I do want Brett to do some kickass awesome things like scorching another defense for a half dozen touchies!!

I'm really disappointed in GB Packer fans. Ya lets build a team around a 40 year old QB. That's REAL smart.

40? Last time I checked he was 38. But maybe my math is bad. Here:

Brett Favre, born October 10, 1969.

dfosterf (12-May) : *Elgersma*
dfosterf (12-May) : Today would be a good day to discover the Pack signed Taylor Engersma, the Canadian QB
Zero2Cool (11-May) : It wasn't. He simply wanted his money back. They refused. Cops came. They gave him his money in end.
