Hi guys,

Seeing Vernon Davis and Cedric Benson exceed expectations the season gone got me to thinking, can Justin Harrell pull off a Houdini and

a) Remove the impending epic bust tag (If he doesn't have one already)
b) Stay healthy
c) Contribute to the Gren Bay Packers

Now, I have been merciless in my discontent at Harrell, from him his showing up fat at training camp in his rookie season to the constant injuries and mediocre play, however I have still not given up hope...yet.

The coming season is probably make it or break for Justin Harrell, and that's not considering that the Packers may cut his ass.

I for one, sincerely hope we give him one final chance. Reasons?

1) A defensive scheme that he has not been a part of thus far
2) His raw physical elements (6'4, 300-330lbs)
3) HE IS A FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK AND SOMEONE YOU SHOULD BE A LITTLE STUBBORN ABOUT.

I for one, would dearly love for him to return to the roster and contribute, even if it isn't lights out, i'd be happy with AJ Hawk esque plod-along play. As long as he can prove he is able to maintain a place on the roster, i'd be happy.

Every team has a bad draft choice now and again. If damage limitation can be achieved then i'd consider it a victory, not just for the Packers but for us too.

i have hope for the guy....

but this back injury is serious buisness, if he can somehow get past it, cool but those are long odds (givin his history) .

after this year he will be a bust or a contributer (bust-light) , either way he was a terrible pick.

Yeah there is really no reason to give up on him now. I do believe this will be his final chance to prove he can stay healthy. If it were any other injury, I would be optimistic; but back injuries just don't go away.

What Justin needs, is some of Greg Jennings' blessed oil.

Greg's pre game ritual:

I use a blessed oil and anoint my body. I pray and ask God for his covering that no harm or danger come to me. It frees my mind.

It's all water under the bridge with Justin.

Good pick, bad pick, decision at the time...whatever...

The man is bought and paid for.

His remaining money is chump change.

Bad back. Will the back hold up?

We have zip squat shit indication that it will. Actually, we have zip squat shit on anything, because we have zip squat shit for media.

If this guy played in New York or D.C.----I guarantee we would know weekly about that back, or at least know that he had been asked about it.

The whole thing pisses me off. I mean really, how friggin' hard is it to ASK HIM?

Look at Al Harris and his vids from NFP.

Not only do we see his improvement (range of motion, seeing him backpedal, etc)

The whole friggin' COUNTRY is rooting for Al.

Someone needs to suggest to one of those journalists to go suggest to Justin that he consider doing something similar. Lord knows the young man could use some positive PR...I would prefer to see him in a vid, pumpin' some steel etc. instead of the mental image of him sitting on his mom's couch in his mansion with part of my nine million oozing out of his jumpsuit stuffing donuts in his yap, all the while perfecting his Madden skills.

Unfortunately b and c need to happen WAY before A even comes into play.

I'd love Harrell to come out and win one of the reserve DE spots in camp this Summer, but the guy has got to show he can make it through most spring workouts and training camp before I'd even be REMOTELY comfortable putting him on the 53-man roster again.

I think a lot of fans are rooting for him, including myself, but he's got a lot to prove to the team before the regular season begins. Let's just hope he can go out there and show something more than the Packers have gotten out of him besides multiple stints on IR.

Here the last report i have seen on Justin Harrell.

"[Packers] Packers Say DT Justin Harrell's Back Is Almost Fully Recovered

Maligned Packers defensive end Justin Harrell is on a rigorous rehab program at the team's Lambeau Field facilities in the early part of the offseason. Harrell, Green Bay's first-round draft pick in 2007, hasn't played since Dec. 7, 2008. A recurring back injury flared up in training camp last summer, and Harrell missed the entire season. "He is getting close to being fully recovered," head coach Mike McCarthy said shortly after the season ended. "There are definitely some targets that he is going to have to hit throughout the offseason, but he is doing very well in the weight room and the rehab part of it. He is going to be here full time."
