GBPG- Blog Feb 26 2010

DE Justin Harrell has "turned the corner" in his recovery from chronic back problems. When I asked if he's nervous saying that, McCarthy said, "Thats the way it is. Injuries are part of our game. Some players get em all at once. Some players spread it out over a career. (Harrell)s had it hopefully all at once, and hopefully, he can get past this and then have a good career. I know its been hard on him, but hes put the time in. This is the best hes looked since hes been in Green Bay, Ill say that."

:thumbleft: (other than the fact that MM has [arguably] bullshat us in the past about this)

Edit--- Oops, looks like GBPG left this part out from same presser---

JSOnline; Bedard

NT Justin Harrell is in the best shape he's been in with Packers but is not yet 100%

Oh, and Pack93zBlue Moon or Franziskaner-

Would like to have Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher back but wasn't adamant about it. Thinks line has gotten to a point where continuity should be there.
That being said, McCarthy did not sound as optimistic about T.J. Lang being an effective left tackle, although he said they're talking through it. Said it's probably not his best position, possibly right tackle or guard.

LOL.. All those words amount to less than one sack.. ;)

And further more.. seeing the couple years of the offensive lines performance to start the years under this coaching staff... excuse me if I don't put much stock in his assessment currently.. last time I checked they have missed just about each and every year on the best lineup and move guys around like the little frog on the game frogger..

We shall see how it all shakes out.. yes we shall.

God it would be nice if we could afford to have Lang win the LG or RT spot and not have to use him at LT.

I'd like to bring Tauscher back and keep Lang as his backup at RT. Tauscher is probably going to be willing to sign a relatively friendly deal to keep playing in Green Bay. Sitton will continue to man RG with the loser of the Colledge/Spitz battle at LG being the primary backup at G.

I'm ready to move on from Clifton and bring in someone to play LT either via the early rounds of the draft or through RFA even if it means giving up a 1st or second rounder.

I'm all for Harrell to turn it around. Another big body. A rotation of Jolly, Jenkins, Harrell, Pickett, and Raji would be great. Keep them fresh.

What is this, the third year I've said I hope Harrell can come out and contribute to the team??? The talent may be there, but for crying out loud, Justin, show us something. Anything!!!

Carroll at least played so we could conclude that he sucks and I think we actually got something for trading him.

I stand corrected. I would like Harrell to have a great year and prove me wrong but at this point it would be great to get anything out of the millions spent on him.
