Hmmm.. been saying the same thing since 07'... Campen needs to be bumped down a notch.. bring in a veteran oline coach and let Campen learn under someone.. IMO, of course that is if you want to retain him.

I love your passionate write-ups. Lol. I'll react to this seriously. I can never figure out whether you're screwing around or are dead serious.

First problem. I'm not ok with Kampy playing OLB. He should not be on our roster next year. I don't care if we don't get anything for him. All that he'll do is hold back our young guys while he's out there looking awfully average. At best.

The next problem is, those young guys aren't elite players, either. Jones isn't good enough at the point of attack. He doesn't get passed most RTs. Thompson has been a question mark so far, but didn't look too good in his rookie season. Poppinga isn't the pass rusher you want there.

That leaves us with a big hole right there. A hole I wouldn't mind being filled with a 1st rounder in Brandon Graham. Or a 2nd rounder in Kindle, maybe.

Or an elite safety, for that matter. And a young corner. And a KR/PR. And yes, Dave, a RB.

Sorry.

We can put up 45 points with a good O-line. We can't stop an opposing team from scoring 51 with a good O-line.

If we where to invest all those picks into our O-line, though, I'd rather have us trading up. Throw a 1st, a 2nd and, maybe, a 3rd to one of the teams a little higher up in the first round and go with a real quality OT.

I can't wait till draft day. Be sure to join the gameday chat, Dave. Dhazer exploding when we didn't draft Crabtree was amusing. Dave going crazy when we don't pick an OT in the first two rounds will be hilarious.

No offense, of course.

Rock - look at it this way. How long do you think Aaron Rodgers will play in the NFL if he gets sacked 50+ times a year? Who is our MVP right now? Tough call between Aaron Rodgers and Charles Woodson, but you get my point. We need Aaron Rodgers and we need him healthy.

OL should be our #1 priority. Our #2 priority of course is bumping up our D into elite status.

I'm not saying that we should ignore the O-line. We can't. It's too bad for that.

It was more in reaction to Foster's, somewhat jokingly, strategy to draft nothing but o-linemen on the first 2 days.

We have more needs than only the O-line. You can't ignore the fact that half of these sacks where due to Rodgers holding the ball, as well. That doens't justify all the sacks, but people would've been a lot happier if we gave up "just" 32 sacks this year.

O-line is a big need, but not one that that's much more important than OLB or S.

The whole trick behind a defense is being able to get pressure with just 4. We couldn't. Most of the sacks and hurries we had when just bringing 4 where coverage sacks/hurries. In reality, Matthews is a good, but not great, rusher. Just look at some of his plays this year. A lot of his sacks where due to him keeping on playing. He often got QBs down long after they should've gotten rid of the ball. Or when they tried to scramble away.

And Bigby could use an upgrade, as well. He's pretty good, but makes mental and physical mistakes in coverage. And maybe a tampa 2-like ILB to drop into coverage. Something we could've used against the Cardinals.

That doesn't mean that I would mind an OT in the first round. On the contrary, I'd love it. We can't rely on Clifton anymore. Tauscher can't have too much left. We have just one kid who looks like he could play OT for us right now in Lang. We need someone. Maybe not this year, but surely we'll need one for next year.

And take whatever I say with a grain of salt, I'm in love with defense. I'm the Buddy Ryan on the 85 Bears. Lol.

Since we already know that Campen isn't going anywhere, let's sign a petition to get him some "help".

Campen can be the "good cop."

As stated, the players like him. I want a renowned asshole as a counterbalance. Former Marine Corporal, and he's acted like it his whole coaching career. He is actually somewhat famous for being a hard-charger.

It doesn't hurt that he is one of the most expert men alive in the employment of the ZBS.

God help Colledge, et. al. were we to secure his services, lol

Give him whatever title you want Mike RICK TRICKETT, FSU

Edit--- I found one, lol

How Rick Trickett "rolls" as a coach, lol

Rick Trickett wants to know what your major malfunction is

...What part of "Buyer Beware" and "due diligence" didn't Phillips understand when he signed with FSU? How could he not know the fate awaiting him when he stepped on campus?

Even guys who arrive in top shape are destined to go through the 9 Rings of Hell. So Aubrey must have had a death wish to binge on Whoppers 'n fries and show up 40 pounds overweight and out of shape.

Most incredulous of all: Phillips obviously didn't listen when Auburn recruiters must've tried to scare him away from FSU by telling Trickett horror stories from the days the mean Marine coached on The Plains. The best one we've heard goes like this:

Trickett allegedly peed on a football twice before allowing a center to snap the ball because he was "pissed off" at the kid.

All About.. I will agree that Colledge brings tangibles to the table, and honestly, I have said this more than once for a couple of years now.. with a good teacher that would "get through" to these guys, I think we could have a very good solid offensive line.. and honestly how Mike McCarthy deploys the offense.. if we could get solid consistent play from this group, can you imagine that fits we could give defenses.

IMO.. ditch the Campen experiment and bring about a veteran offensive line coach that will drill fundamentals into this group.. demand a certain level of play snap in and out.

I know Colledge and Spitz can play in this league, I have seen them do it in spurts over the course of the past couple years.. it is just consistency using proper fundamentals snap in and out..

That is what drives me nuts.. I know they can do it.. they just aren't being coached up to get it out of them consistently.

Then there are the issues of breakdowns in scheme.. which is either the players fault for missing reads or the coaches fault for a shitty scheme.. being I am not in the huddle I can't say for sure whom is at fault.. but I will blame the freaking coaches for either way.. either they suck at blocking schemes and blitz reads.. or they keep shuffling guys out there that suck at making the reads in live action.. Need to get pressure on the Packers.. run delayed stunts on them.. confuses them up every freaking time.

There.. got my quarterly rant about the offensive line coaches out of my system.. they have had plenty of guys to develop on that line.. they haven't gotten it done yet. Piss poor SOBing excuse of a....

That's a +1 right there - couldn't agree with you more. They need help in terms of players, but they REALLY need to get rid of those coaches. Get a solid guy with a history of building solid OL play. THEN see what guys like Spitz and DC can bring to the field on Sundays. It's hard to assess the players when you have every indication that their coaches are utter shit.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
