It's McCarthy's fault the line is holding? Eh. I'm not going to list "excuses" but I don't agree.

"WhiskeySam" wrote:

Not necessarily McCarthy. The position coach falls under coaching. And yes after 5 weeks of it, it should have been corrected. Unfortunately due to our health problems, benching the offenders may not be an option.

glad you said it, sam. we are a young team to start with THEN our young starters get injured & what do we get? even YOUNGER reserve players. to think that we're NOT gonna get penalized more often than before is just kinda silly. it's to be expected for at least a few games, IMO.
not saying our starters aren't making their share of mistakes either. just thought i better clarify that before i get trashed. šŸ™‚

Same penalties every week on the O-line. That's poor coaching. Let the excuses begin. We hear the same thing during the post game conferences every week, but the problems don't get corrected. At least next week's game with the Seahawks looks winnable. We can't be worse than them.

I said the same thing about the Falcons.....

When I saw the schedule come out, I didn't think @Seattle was winnable, but they have looked like crap all season. We at least are competitive. Unless Seattle finds half a dozen new players on offense this week, there's no way we should lose to them.

We're not competitive cause teams dead in the hospital and we're not losing by more points because rodgers and wr's are putting up points and doing there jobs. On the other hand defense is just not getting it done

I don't agree with that assessment. Both the Bucs and Falcons games were close games we were still in late in the 4th quarter. Seattle isn't playing anywhere close to that level. If we're worse than Seattle, you're talking about a 4-12 finish not 8-8 where most of us had them this year.

Let's not begin the wrist-slitting folks...

1. Jenkins and Bigby being out hurt us big time. We've got major issues stopping the run, and it's not just the D-Line. The DE's are struggling, the DTs are struggling with gap control, but our LBs don't seem to be as energetic in going into the running lanes as they were last year.

2. Barnett is not where he was last year. Last year, he attacked and got some big tackles for a loss. This year, he is hesitating, waiting for the RB to make his move so he can stay with the RB. That's really odd.

3. Blitzing... we blitzed a lot of times, and for our blitzers to not even force the QB to hurry is pathetic. Something about our blitzing needs to be done.

4. O-line. I'm shocked that Cliffy and Taush have struggled this badly this late into the season. Inexcusible for vets.

As you had mentioned zero in the chat, the missed field goal might come back to haunt us. Well it haunt us bad and will haunt me until I know for sure that we going make the playoffs.

That holding call was BS. Totally blown by the officials.

Look at the replay, Finley didn't even touch anyone, let alone hold.

Who think it's time for KGB to take his spot back as a starter?

HEAVENS NO!!! We suck against the run, and you want to put a player that has a weakness against the run at RE?

I'm thinking we should shift Cole to RE and see how he handles it. Montgomery was terrible.
