He's 17, been playing for two years. No lessons. He taught himself. I am probably biased, but I think he freaking kicks ass.

Sounds pretty tight to me.. it absolutely tickles me that some of the youth of today is attaching themselves to when Metallica actually made some quality tunes.. before they went the way of the masses.

He is. The first time I heard him play was over Thanksgiving, and my jaw hit the floor. And he has improved since then. He is scary good. I am amazed that someone can learn how to play that well with no lessons. In only 2 years!

As someone who plays a few instruments including guitar I must say he does a good job in the video. Lessons really are only good for learning proper techniques or tricks in my opinion. The rest is just playing a lot and with motivation. Heavy Metal isn't really my thing but my roommate two years ago used to have a guitar that said "HATE" on the fret board. Pretty funny to me lol he played a lot of metal.

My brother was self taught too. And he could play electric, and 6 and 12 string guitars. He had 2 bands in the 1960's.
I think he was in his 20's before he learned how to read music.
I.....I can'y play a guitar.
I STILL don't know how people can play AND sing at the same time.

Now that I can do. But I can only play the rhythm. (strumming the chords while singing) I have only played guitar with my Nephew once, and it was a blast. He played the lead while I played rhythm and we jammed out for hours.

This was last Thanksgiving, and he has improved since then. I am hoping later this month we can play again when my sister has her house warming party. I can't wait. I'll post some videos if we come up with anything worth posting.
