I actually got really lucky the other day on my car: four new tires, 75 bucks each installed, including mounting/balancing/aligning. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I have to say that if the State of Iowa tried to charge that for drivers' licenses, there'd likely be revolt even in this excessively law-abiding state.

That, or everyone would move to Minnesota.

Just to be clear, that's with lessons and all. That's not just renewal and picking up your license. That's something like 35-50 euros.

Thing is more that I was shocked by the price including lessons etc. I would've loved to start when I turned 18, but since I have to pay for everything myself on a very modest supermarket wage and not a whole lot of study financing, I can't.

I'm old enough, I got my lessons courtesy of Wisconsin public education on taxpayer dime. So I have no idea what the cost is here for drivers ed now.
