ICE makes 49 targeted arrests in state
By The Associated Press

Feb. 26, 2010 11:38 a.m. | Federal immigration officials say they've arrested nearly 50 people in central and western Wisconsin during a weeklong crackdown.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE, said it targeted illegal immigrants with criminal records, previously deported individuals and those with outstanding deportation orders. ICE said the 49 arrests were made beginning Feb. 18 in 12 Wisconsin counties.

Of the 49 taken into custody, 20 were arrested based on prior criminal histories, including drug possession.

Federal agents say the 49 are not being criminally prosecuted, but will be processed for removal from the United States.

The counties involved are Langlade, Dunn, Monroe, Eau Claire, Marathon, Portage, Clark, Trempealeau, Sauk, Wood, Shawano and Waupaca.

I am too. I'm hearing from a friend in GB that parts of GB are being overrun by illegals. Geez. It's bad enough in California. Our schools here suck because of them. They take too many of our resources (and culturally, they don't take education seriously either).

We have high numbers of cash paying farmers and mink ranches that employ and house employees... addresses come up as the farmers.. hmm wonder why? ;)

But that is wrong honestly.. that is making an assumption based on little proof... some of the workers around the one mink ranch I know of are very nice people.. just don't know if they are legally here.

That's the problem i have. If they arn't here legally, it doesn't matter how nice they are, they are breaking the law.
These laws are in place for a reason. And it's not fair or right to those that do the work to make it legally, to allow those that don't follow the laws in here.
I have no problem with people from other lands coming here, just follow the dang law.

I walked into the east side Advance Auto Parts store a few years ago and they were playing commercials over the intercom in Spanish. Three Caucasian employees were at the register area.

This was something that normally happens, but in English.

The manager asked me how he could help me. I replied "Can you tell me what country I'm in?" I looked up at the intercom speaker and walked out shaking my head.

If I go to Germany or Brazil or any other place, I don't expect them to have everything in their native language and then in English to accommodate my ass.

Learn the language of the country you live in or get out. I have enough issues learning English let alone having to read a sign and try to find the damn English content.

Spanish is starting to be a native language around some parts of Green Bay and as you can predict, I'm not a fan.

I'm all for helping those who do not know our (moronically difficult) language, but there's a line and it should not be crossed. We are America, let us have that seeing as so many companies hire illegals or worse send the jobs over seas.

Melting pot? More like a fuck those who live there pot.

You can count me in on the immigration reform in the states - I've been complaining about this for years.

You just have to look to our politicians thou and see that they do nothing and did nothing when it came time for votes.
