If you think all of the time, about even the most remote and out there thoughts (that make others around you think you're strange, odd, misspoken, etc), how is it that ... still ... the unthinkable persists to happen? It doesn't make sense. You think and think and think of everything, then it happens, the unthinkable. How? Why?

Dude - there is NO way you can think of EVERY possible scenario. Life is too complex.

I'm telling you, sometimes in life you're better off just letting life guide you and enjoying it. Thinking too much will get you seriously depressed.

Have a plan, but allow the plan to be modified and don't get too upset when the plan goes way off course.

Best post in the thread Zombie. Thanks.

Ever notice how if you're that person who's always trying to make people laugh, even at your own expense, that if you're quiet and just minding your own business. Everyone asks you what's wrong? Why does something have to be wrong? Why can't you just be quiet without an issue? And it's normally the people who you know don't really care if you're going through a hard time or not, they just want you to put it aside and make a clown of yourself so there day goes faster.

This happens in real life all the time for me.. most often I am thinking and doing multiple things at one time and I have this spaced "pissed off" look as people say it.. couldn't be farther from the truth.

But it has its advantages at times.. some avoid me with the mundane rhetorical questions. 😉

Yep, thinking = bad mood, I guess. I think a lot, I like to think, I like being prepared for things. At times, there's just too much going on to think about everything and you step back and think 'wtf is going on, how did it come to this and why cant i think my way out of it?!?!'. Sometimes just ignoring it all and laughing is good.

Because you're not what is expected of you when you're quiet, so it is assumed something is wrong.

In other words, people expect the joker to be joking. Instead, the joker is sitting around minding his own business and very quiet. Something has to be wrong (looking at the joker from an outside point of view).

So true. You guys know me pretty well. And when i am quiet, people think there HAS to be something wrong. And often times there is.
But if i'm just sitting and "thinking", that can be misread. Usually, people will question you because they do care if you are ok or not.
If they are around you alot, they pretty much see what you are like "normally". Then if you have a day where you are not like that, they arn't sure how to react to you. Thus, they question you.
Now.....if there really IS nothing wrong with you, that you are JUST thinking, you wouldn't get mad about people questioning you. You'd understand that they just don't know how to take you. So maybe something IS bothering you, and you just arn't sure how to deal with it.

You CAN "think too much." Fact is, we are only in control of so much of what goes on in our lives. You can say "I'm gonna cross the street" and you start across, and some dummy not looking hits you with his car. (Happened to me) In fact, anything you plan can be changed in an instant.
So it's ok to think, but not to worry about all of the possibilities. Because in the end, what will thinking about all those strange things get you? Maybe depressed or with an ulcer.
I have thought about the fact that we are all just stuck on the side of a huge spinning ball, which if gravity suddenly went away, we'd all fly off into space. But i'm not going to worry about it. It COULD happen. But so what? Do i have any control over weird things happening?

I'm still not over the first guy to milk a cow.

WTF was he thinking?

I know there was alcohol involved...Had to be.

Think about it.

Here's how it went.

Him and his buddy are sitting up on a hill, gazing down upon a herd of Holsteins, and he is getting a load on. He turns to his drinking buddy and says, "I'll bet you I can go down there in that valley---and you see those big-assed sacks underneath those huge critters? You see those pink things that look kinda like fingers sticking out of those sacks?

...I'm gonna go down there in the middle of that herd, get underneath one of those big bastards, squeeze those pink finger-thingys, and whatever the hell comes out...well, I'm gonna drink it."

Now THAT was thinking the unthinkable. Dude had a major set on him, imo.
