lol.. seen the other thread already..

Better be careful though.. you are filling the boards with the same day old articles.

The Packers are back in playoff position as a wild card team.

"Nonstopdrivel" wrote:

No there not. Unless the Bears lose and I think then we still will be tied up with a lot of teams in which will be tied.

"shield4life" wrote:

Yes, we most certainly are. We have the tiebreakers over the Bears by reason of head-to-head and better division record. Do a little research before spouting off to a guy who takes the time to exhaustively calculate these scenarios every week for this board. :magnifyglass:

We won in spite of some high school junior varsity line play, I guess that is good.

We has silly mistakes pre-snap, at the snap as far as blitz reads and communication, and physical mistakes during the play.

Seriously, it is painful to watch this line play... overjoyed with the win and progress in other areas.. but this and penalties tempers any long term excitement for the season.

"pack93z" wrote:

Maybe just "promote" Campen and fill his spot with somebody competent. Without the offensive line penalties, we're within normal limits. The OL is killing this team.

i wouldn't argue if we spent our entire draft next year on an O-line and traded Grant in the offseason. in fact, i'm going to be pretty upset if we don't.

At least maybe get someone who can catch the ball. Screens are a great weapon. As is being able to dump the ball off.

I still don't think Sutton was worth anything to the team. Just never impressed me. Jackson needs to get rolling.

People seem to want Tauscher put in so badly, but what makes anyone think he can handle the rigors of a game with a freshly repaired. Besides, Babre and Sitton seem to be settling down on the right, it's the left side that is a mess.

"pack93z" wrote:

You mean the communication where they left multiple people come free, I especially liked when Barbre went outside on a corner and left the end go completely free between him and Sitton.

Face it.. the protection scheme, communication and execution along this line is awful. That speaks as much to coaching as anything.

Clifton had a terrible game and in my opinion should not have been on the field. He was cheating as much as he could to protect that fact that he could not effectively push off his inside leg/ankle.. the guy is a gamer, but he isn't ready to be on the field. They need to shut him down for several weeks at the least..

That leads to the next issue.. Breno is obviously not ready to play, healthy scratch each and every week. My opinion, they need to acquire some depth at the left side to give us a fall back if Lang struggles.. The Eagles most likely will be looking, that will tighten up the pool of available players.

This is tiring speaking of the same issue (Oline performance) for a few years.. think we might want to correct it soon? Please.

Yeah, Jamon Meredith started at LT for the Bills and looked good.
Meanwhile, Giacomini's still on our roster and hasn't been active for a single game. Sure would be nice to have a competent LT on the roster.

How long is Clifton going to be out for? Anyone heard?

It seems that subbing Lang in for Clifton is a much smarter move than shuffling the whole line to move Colledge over. Lang held his own against an (admittedly very pedestrian) Detroit rush, and looked pretty good run blocking.

Looking down the road, I'll assume that Lang gets the start against Cleveland. If he does well, should we start him against Minnesota?

"Since69" wrote:

He'll do much better against Minny when he's actually practiced the position before. Not to mention played in some games. I'd like to see if he can hold up against the pass rush.

I have a question about our Oline working together. Why is it that when Lang got into the game, that the whole Oline seemed to play better? Was I seeing stuff, or does one change affect the whole line that much? Was it just the situation of the game? (Their D line was tired?)

Thoughts?

"TheEngineer" wrote:

Although I'm quite pleased with Lang's performance, he wiffed on 1 pass block (Rodgers' interception) but played pretty well by finishing in run blocks.

Furthermore, Quinn Johnson came in at roughly about the same time. Coupled with the tired Detriot defense, Grant was able to run through some bigger holes.

But Lang still played amicably, so I'm excited to see what a full week of practice will do for him.

I don't expect Clifton back for at least 2 weeks.

"Timmons" wrote:

They only threw the ball twice with Lang in there. Ostensibly they wanted to run the clock out. They may have been afraid to see him pass block.
