How is Brandon at picking up the blitz?
He's great (compared to our options) at catching out of the backfield.
When is he predicted to be back?

I think we need him back.

I think he's hovering somewhere around Out and Doubtful.

I wouldn't expect him back this week, next week I'd think he'd be about questionable, but I think he'll return the week after Minnesota.

they've been keeping him listed as out indefinitely because in all honesty they have no clue when he will get healthy. it may or may not be this week 😛

I think so, as well. You talked about that safety valve in another thread and I really think that Jackson is that guy, as both Grant and Wynn have brick hands.

Btw. Looking at the 2008 2nd round RBs really makes you regret picking one in 2007.

2007
49th overall - Kenny Irons - Not in football anymore
50th overall - Chris Henry - Substance abuse, burried in the depth chart, very average when he has seen action.
63th overall - Brandon Jackson - Has added something to our receiving game, but is injured often and far from an impact player.

2008
44th overall - Matt Fort - I think that it's safe to say that he's a pretty good player.
55th overall - Ray Rice - Pocket Hercules Nr. 2? He's been very impressive and has won the starting RB job this year.
64th overall* - Kevin Smith - Was pretty impressive last year on a flat-out awfull team. Not looking too good early on in this season, though.

*Technically the 64th pick fell in the third round in 2008, because the Patriots had to forfeit their selection.

Doesn't have a whole lot to do with his injury, but hey, it adds to a Brandon Jacobs thread in some way.

Every single time. Wish we would've had Brandon Jacobs. Now that's a hard runner. I'll take their entire O-line with him, lol.

Anyway, you get my point. Nice find.

Either way I'll be happy when we get B-Jack. We have no change of pace back. Ryan Grant also is not the option at number one. He's slow, only runs north-south (when's the last time you saw him a make a cutback) and doesn't make plays on his own. He just runs where he's supposed to every damn time, no moves, just falling over. We need a playmaker in the backfield, I mean look at all the successful offenses. If Jackson comes back healthy I hope he steals a lot of Grant's carries (hey, I have Grant on a fantasy team and I'm saying this).

I've been known to type Brandon Jacobs a time or two. It happens to the worst of us. :cyclopsani:

self fulfilling prophecies, if we type it enough times he has to come play here.

djcubez, I'd still like your examples of Grant playing that way all the time? I've seen you type it in 3 different threads without any game examples, Are you a bitter anti-gold domer or something? Lol, I have no problems if Grant is that bad, but I haven't seen that and would love to be corrected. I'm going to continue to call it out until you put some real observations of that being the case into your post. If you feel up to that, I'll be happy to lay it out for you on where Grant has done more with plays than others believe he could by doing a Madden ankle buster juke. You'll be just as disappointed in Brandon Jackson not being AP just as much as with Grant. Did Grant go down easy last year, of course he did, no denying that. but to compare his running in the first two weeks to his running last season is crazy and makes my head spin. /defending Grant rant off

I will go to say that Brandon Jackson probably fits a WCO better since the RB should be more focused on receiving in open space. So if we become more disciplined in running a true WCO, then maybe Jackson would be better than Grant.
