One of the few times i have agreed with the President.
What i REALLY love is all the "PC" people jumping on him for saying it.
I mean....honestly....WHO in the world would agree with what West did?
The ONLY reason i will cut West any slack is that he showed up at the Jay Leno show the next night and apologized.
I never thought "rap" was anything but noise anyway. If you can talk, you can rap. Not at all like REAL singing.
I know lots of people like it, and i'm not cutting on them, it's just not for me.

Wow, wow, I would not go there. Listen to Jay-Z's album Blueprint, or Canibus' Rip the Jacker. Listen to a song, "Canibus - Poet Laureate II" it will forever change your opinion about rap. I guarantee it will take more training to get your flow, intersentence rhyme techniques to the level they are on those albums (which are just examples by the way), than it will take to train yourself to sing on key. Saying rapping is just like talking is the stupidest statement one can say about music altogether. No disrespect intended though, if you don't like rap, that's fine, but even if I don't like Classical, I would never say that it's just like humming to a tune.

I agree that West gained some points back from apologizing on Leno though.

I found it very boring, but it is a form of art, just like any other type of music. I like some rap songs, but I prefer the upbeat stuff. I have like 5 hip hop songs on my MP4... all have grown on me because of game soundtracks (Madden and THPS).

Anyway, everyone's jumping on Kanye pretty hard here. I think that he's pretty good at what he does. He at least makes some inovations to get different styles together. One of the songs which I somewhat liked was the one with Daft Punk. He's really not that bad.

What he did was just retarded and he might be a little extreme (like with hurrican Kartina), but I doubt that he's as bad a guy as it appears right now.

I really don't mind if someone says rap is bad, or something like that, because it's not even one of my favorite genres, I just think that calling it "just like talking" was really outrageous. Rapping like on the song I mentioned can't be done by someone who can merely "talk".

You can't blame Cheesey though.. It's how he perceives rap music. To his ears, it's rhyming/talking and that's it.
