We could get first hand knowledge of the Vikings playbook, oh wait, that would be the Dr. Suess version.

Doesn't playing football in the NFL require a certain degree of intelligence, which I don't believe Tjack possesses? But if we actually wanted to run some Wildcat, boy he'd be our man.

If we aquire TJack for the team, can we give him the #4 jersey?

Trade for him? Hell no.

Claim him off waivers or sign him if the Vikings release him? It'd be an interesting prospect, but part of me would rather give our current guys one more year to see if they can't develop some more.

We don't have a year to play with if Rodgers goes down, though. I'd feel much better with a 'vet' such as TJ than the other 2 options.

Also, although disrespectful, I think the #4 jersey would be pretty funny!

I for one don't think it would be a bad idea. A back up qb has to come in and take over for the starter for say a month. So could flynn or Brohm steer the team to a .500 mark? Flynn may be able to. Brohm Prolly not.

So therefore the idea for giving up a 4th rounder to get a journeyman QB with starting and playoff experience.
It won't happen but I would be cool with it.
I am therefor I think.

Just read where Flynn will only be holding for kicks tonight, Aaron Rodgers is going to make a brief appearance(1 serires?), then the rest of the night is BB's.

Most of the starters(except Barnett), will be sitting this one out.

Brohm will get his shot tonight with the 2nd and 3rds, I don't expect great things, but if he can move the team, and not make any glaring mistakes, I will be satisfied.

Sounds like he has had a very good week in practice, maybe all this trade talk has lit a fire, or could be the increased reps was all he needed to have things finally "click".

I guess we will see tonight.

The Packers have had plenty of chance to pick up a decent back-up QB over the last year or so, and have been reluctant to cut ties with either Brohm (because of the high draft pick) and Flynn (because of his performance). I can't see that changing now despite the increase in Brohm's last chance stories in the press. I know the Pats just cut O' Connell, but we're talking about Brian Brohm who was an absolute star in college compared to O' Connell.

In short, there's no chance that the Packers will trade for Jackson, much less the Vikings actually trading him within the division.

I agree a trade is unlikely.

But T-Jack has lots more upside than all the other retreads that we've been linked with so far. Most retread QBs have zero upside, they are too old with not much future trade value.

But Jackson is still young, he was a high pick and has shown flashes of being good. Mike McCarthy and Clemens are renowned for their work with QBs and Jackson is young enough to be coached up. Just think what its done to his development having Chilly as his offensive mentor?

As for the waiver wire I assumed it works like the draft order for every player that hits the wire. Detroit have claimed at least 3 players put on waivers, two of which it has then dumped. There was a story this week how they are using their high position to have first look at lots of players being cut.

Don't get me wrong, I hate what 'you know who' did and think you can't get any more sophomoric than him...but if the packers wanted to do everything they could to enhance the rift, well, that would do it!

With that said, veering back on topic, I think it'd be really funny, and wouldn't mind seeing TJ in green and gold (and would probably buy the new #4 jersey 🙂
