The only reson i responded with more posts on it was because people were questioning why i believed it, or getting mad. I wanted there to be no doubt as to WHY i believe as i do. I am not trying to force anyone to believe as i do.
But as i stated, i really believe it. If you really believe something that you feel will impact people you care about for all eternity, do you REALLY believe it if you don't take the chance that people will hate you, by sharing it with them?
If i saw a truck coming down the street that you didn't see, and i could see it was going to hit you, do you think it would be better to keep my mouth shut, or to yell "LT! LOOK OUT!!!"???
Did i REALLY believe the truck was going to hit my friend if i didn't even warn him?
I can yell "LOOK OUT!" But in the end, it's up to the individual if they get out of the way or not. And if you choose not to believe what i said, who knows, maybe i am wrong and the truck wasn't going to hit you anyways, right?

Cheesey.. That's one of the best analogies I've seen/heard when it comes to people giving their testimonies. Thanks my friend, I'mma use that. =)

I thought of that years ago.
Someone said to me "Faith without works is dead" which IS in the Bible, as a way to "prove" to me that you had to WORK to earn salvation. But i honestly thought about what it was REALLY saying, and i came up with the example. What i said to the person in question was this: What the Bible is saying is, if you TRUELY believe something, it MAKES you do "works". If you truely believe people are going to die and go to Hell if they don't accept Jesus, will you sit there and do nothing? I said "If i was standing in the middle of a road, and saw a semi bearing down on me, would i just stand there and say "Yup! Thats a truck, and it's going to run me down!" and then just stand there while it runs me over? If you truely believe it, you are going to run out of the way! Then you turn and look and see other people standing in the road. If you truely believe, will you just stand there and say nothing? Or would you run to them and say "There's a truck coming! It's going to run you over if you don't get out of the road!"
If you really believe, you will WANT to warn others.

I've heard 'Faith Without Works is Dead' many times.. And I think it has many different good definitions. One of them is, you can have all the faith in the world that you are saved/going to Heaven/in the Lord.. But if you do NOTHING with that faith, then it's like you don't have faith at all. Which could be another, Formish way of saying what you just said. But, either way, that analogy is awesome.

Very true Formo!
If you really believe, it should bring forth results for that very reason, or you have to wonder if the belief is really there. Of course only God knows that answer. And He won't be fooled by those that try to pull a fast one on Him! LOL!

God's GIFT to us is salvation. Our gift back to Him is what we do with it.

(and that ends today's sermon.)LOLOL!!!

That's hilarious. We went from a thread that started off as Jeff Garcia, his hot wife, his 'possibility of being gay', to homophobia, to gay rights, to a sermon on faith without works..

Wow.

Gay or not, Jeff Garcia is one of the toughest S.O.B's I have ever seen play and I have followed his CFL and NFL career.

What do you guys think about CFL stats and if they should be included when it comes to the Hall Of Fame? One could argue that Warren Moon did not have the NFL numbers to get in, but his 5 straight Grey Cups and amazing numbers in Canada helped him. If both leagues were combined I could see Jeff Garcia with a legitimate shot at the HoF considering the number of Pro-Bowls and his decent combined stats as well as Grey Cup win. Flutie should be a no-brainer, but will likely get snubbed.... again. Greatest CFL player ever in my opinion and a great NFL career when he was allowed to play.

No, i don't think it should be included.
My reason?
The NFL is the organization that started the HOF here. If you allow CFL stats, then you have to argue to include Arena Football Stats. It's a slippery slope.
If the CFL wants a hall of fame, they should have one of their own. After all, we don't recognize stats form Japan in the Major League Baseball HOF, right? If we did, then Saduhara OH (i probably didn't spell his name right) would be the home run king over (i hate to even SAY his name) Barry Bonds (and of course that would put him past the REAL HR King, Hank Aaron).
The rules and field are different then the NFL, thus, it should not be included.
Only my opinion, of course.

But IMO.. if a player has earned his way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame then if he has notable stats from CFL they should be noted.

If I am not mistaken, AFL players pre merger are in the HOF... technically they are not NFL player.. Does that matter.. lol.. probably not.

The big difference to me here is the skill level. The AFL was up to NFL standards for most of its existance, the CFL isn't.

The stats should be noted, without a doubt. If you put up numbers like Warren Moon and then go on to be a great player in the NFL, the CFL numbers should weigh in.

If you're a Doug Flutie, though, and you've had a very good CFL career but just a pedestrian NFL career, I don't think that the CFL stats should push you in the HoF.

Little trivia, there's just one player who's inducted in the HoF who has never taken a snap in the NFL and only in the AFL. Bills guard Billy Shaw.

True........but the NFL made that choice when they merged the leagues.
I mean, i myself wouldn't care either way. If i WAS to lean in a direction, it would be not to allow it for the reasons i already noted.
But if they DID allow it, i wouldn't get all upset at it.
