Agreed, funny how when Fran Tarkenton gives his opinion we care and state "thats his right" yet when someone gives one we disagree with they are idiots.

GB's off-season has been sub-par. All we did was replace a Def. Coord and in the process pissed off our best Def. player. We added a few draft picks, as did EVERY other team, and signed some stiffs in FA.

Nationally, the majority of people get it, in GB however the blinders get in the way.

There is no way Packers are number one.. Better not hope his weapons get hurt? Bears all better hope Cutler don't get hurt also Pats watch out lets hope Brady doesn't get hurt again... Giants? really? come on they added to their massive d line and got rid of WR who was a pain in the locker room and that might not even play this year?
I also like how some Viking fans said Fran Tarkenton needs to shut up and is just hating on Favre when most of them said the same thing about Favre when he was playing for the Packers.

They also said Dallas had the best offseason by losing 6 of their starters lol.

These kids that wrote that article have no more weight than you or I.

Fran Tarkenton is entitled to his opinion...I didn't agree with it, but it was most definitely worth hearing, imo.

GB's off-season would seem sub-par to many, I have no problem with that. You have that opinion, I disagree. The weight of your arguments are superior to the authors that wrote this article...to me. I "know" you and your biases, or lack of them , as it were.

As far as nationally, I'll barely go there... Instead, I will tell you what happened in my neighborhood this week here in Harrisburg, PA.

My neighborhood, being outside the friendly confines of Lambeau, would be considered part of the "National" perspective, agreed?

Well, Monday was Memorial day, a holiday. In my township, our normal trash day is Thursday. If there is a holiday, however, the trash day is moved back one day to Friday. It has been like that probably since William Penn was running the show here. This is way too complicated for my little piece of the national perspective. On Wednesday evening (and it's pouring-assed rain, btw) 90% of my neighborhood had their trash out in preparation for Thursday pickup. You see, one moron forgets, puts his trash out, his moron neighbor sees the trash, puts his out, and so forth, and so on.

My wife cracked this week. You see, I am stubborn. In the teeth of 9 out of 10 of my neighbors having their trash out, my trash stayed put. My wife asked me why the hell I wasn't taking the trash out. (She is from here, btw--somehow that seems important for me to tell you, lol)

I told her that the reason I didn't put the trash out is because I feel that Tavaris Jackson will be a better option for the Vikes this year than Brett Favre. She gave me that classic WTF?-wife look, rolled her eyes, and went back to whatever female stuff she was doing before she made the mistake of attempting to talk to her crazy-assed husband.

She didn't get it. My neighbors wouldn't have got it, imo. I don't know if you get it, but many will. I will be happy to discuss it with anyone that cares to partake, because I definitely get it.

You guys kill me.

Here is your expert analyst's pedigrees:

Snot noses in basements write article; bend PackersHome.com noses out of shape in process

I think non has an evil streak in him and likes f#cking with people, that's what I think of that analysis. That is not not a compliment, btw.

TT and Mike McCarthy will know more then me; I would of liked Ted Thompson to FA up a nice DE for us - like carter.

I was a bit worried about our Oline pre draft but I am feeling much better about it; hopefully our Oline coach will figure out whom will be best as starters and have appropriate backups so we dont play musical chairs.

Ever wonder why those QBs out there could throw so well? Oline
just watched the saints/pack game again. Well besides some great receivers their Oline rocked (and our D blew chunks).
Brees ate us up.

Looks like he was the one with the cheese

errr - got off subject there

ya us as #1 in fudgeup off season; bah -

3-4 D hiring one of the best DC out there
one of the best drafts in the league
and having cap room for all our guys coming up

I say we got one of the best; I honestly couldnt ask for more ... well maybe signing of carter but we wont need him if jenkins, harrell and jolly can play

While Fran and this writer from the site have their rights to express their opinions, the writer failed to mention a few things.

Like what you just said..They have a whole new D coaching staff..Why didnt he touch on that? Why didnt he mention that out of all the teams that Capers has gone to in the 1st year that defense doubled in ranking in the 1st year ( at least 80% of the time )

That BJ according to ALL experts was the perfect fit for this new defense....

to make his point, the writer only mentioned one player to suit his argument.

Where as Fran made a point to explain his point by a few examples.

That is why the writer is a noodle head and Fran just sounds bitter

I actually think its funny how many people on here don't keep an open mind. If something is written that makes the Packers look good they are great writers but yet when someone writes bad they are idiots.
Lets take a look at our offseason:

We sign backup players in Smith, Preston , Williams (which everyone said should be paid big money a few months ago) and Bush.
Grade: F or optimistic D-

Defense: we sign a d cord that brings in a new defense ( I like the idea) but yet we have to change how or main players play. AK has to now work in wide spaces, Woody and Al now will have to goto zone (which Al sucks at) and now have Collins as the main guy to recognize the o-sets (he blows alot of coverages and now he has the defense)

Grade C- ( to much of the unknown to grade otherwise)

Draft we got 1 starter the way it looks. Our #9 pick is slated as a backup and then the rest of the draft was great to say we have bodies for backups.

Grade B because the rest of the media thinks we did well.

I think our offseason was below average but then again compared to most with Ted Thompson at the helm is was a popular one. Because he usually doesn't do shit.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.
Martha Careful (6-May) : Happy 93rd Birthday to the Greatest Baseball Player of All-Time...Willie Mays
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Walter Stanely's son
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : and released CB Anthony Johnson and DL Deandre Johnson and waived/injured WR Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick).
buckeyepackfan (6-May) : The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Julian Hicks, OL Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and WR Dimitri Stanley
Zero2Cool (6-May) : Petty, but it's annoying me how the NFL is making the schedule release an event.
Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though
TheKanataThrilla (3-May) : Packers decline 5th year option for Stokes
Mucky Tundra (3-May) : @ProFootballTalk Jaylen Warren: Steelers' special teams coach has discussed Justin Fields returning kicks.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Season officially ending tonight for Bucks ... sad face
Zero2Cool (2-May) : Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as out for tonight's game.
dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
