Thank you all for the encouragement!
I'm "low fat Cheese" now!
Well.......i'm still fat.....but not as bad as before.
Guess i should have asked you all to pray for my being a klutz too. My wife and i went to "Subway" to split a $5 footlong. As i was getting back into the car, i misjudged it, and hit the right side of my head so hard it almost litterally knocked me out. I think i have a minor concussion (heck of a headache too).
Man......if it's not one thing, it's another, hey???
Me and the wife watched a clip on youtube of a coronary bypass surgery just like i had........man........it was soooo gross to see what they actually DID to me. And that clip was like 7 minutes long, while the real operation takes hours. My poor wife kept belching.......i thought she was gonna hurl all over the computer!

I told you that it was a good thing you weren't awake to watch what they did with you. Surgery is a disturbing thing, yet amazing too. I love being in the operating room, but I hope to hell I never have to be operated on!

Guess what?
You were RIGHT!!!
It was quite gross.......and they left alot of it out. You get the feeling of what was done, but not the whole thing.
I'm glad i was "asleep" through it.
But it sure made me KNOW why I feel as sore as i do!!!

Yep, and it's the stuff they left out that was truly horrifying. There's a reason why it's stereotypically the assholes of the medical profession who go into surgery. (And it's often after the patient is put under that their tyrannical nature really emerges: a lot of surgeons treat nurses and other doctors like shit.)

We like to think of a surgeon as a sensitive artist expertly plying his precisely tipped brush with a practiced hand. Think of a construction worker trying to control a jackhammer, and you probably have a more accurate picture of the situation. The way they pull things apart and toss things around is terrifying.

My father once told me that during my mother's cesareans, he witnessed surgeons casually pulling vital organs entirely outside my mother's body purely for the audience's viewing pleasure, then setting them aside on the operating table until it was time to sew her back up. It's amazes me that the human body is capable of withstanding such grotesque abuse.

That goes along with what my father-in-law is fond of saying: "Why would you ever want to be a doctor? A doctor is nothing more than an overpaid mechanic. I've never met a doctor who wasn't bored with his job."

He has a point. 😃

Oh man.......i believe that!
Three weeks after the operation i saw my surgeon.........he was so "no big deal" about what he did in my chest. I KNOW the guy does it all the time, so like any job, it HAS to become boring. But to me, it's amazing.
The man litterally held my heart in his hands. And had he not did a good job, i wouldn't be here now.

My cardiologist has been doing it for 18 year. When i saw him, his attitude was that he was amazed at how well i was doing. He even said so much.
When i told him how shocked i was when he told me how bad i really was, he said "To be honest with you, i was shocked too. You shouldn't have even been walking around with as many blockages as you had."
The nice thing was, he still seems to enjoy what he's doing. He was genuinely happy to see that i was up and around. The man's actions saved my life........had he done what my doctor ordered, the stress teast, instead of going with his own feelings, to bypass that and go right for the heart cath, i very possibly could have had a major heart attack during the stress test.
I could have ended up with major unfixable damage.
