There's nothing wrong with trying this out. Worst case scenario is that this won't work out, Kampman will get traded to a 4-3 team, in which we'd probably get something good in return which I really wouldn't mind. If it doesn't work out, no need to waste Kampman career just trade where he would fit and get someone in return that fits the system. I love him guys don't get me wrong but if it doesn't work you got to go with the best option available.

I think Kampman will be fine. I mean what's job #1 of a 3-4 OLB? Putting pressure on the QB.

And I think we all can say he's pretty good at that.

Job #2 is run stoping.... I think he's do that every well for a LBer.

Job #3 pass cover.... Yeah that one may need a little work but he's got #1 and #2 down pat. And if the Packers play him in zone coverage the time he is in coverage than it's all about playing it smart which I think he's can do.

"So you'd probably look at him - again, it's early on it now - but you'd probably look at him as an end-type person."

It looks like Trgovac thinks Harrell will play at end if he gets healthy.

I always hate to see our guys,in different uniforms so I hope Kampman can learn the new system, seems like harris and Woodson will have to do the same,so it will be interesting.

I think it is very premature for anyone to think Kampmann is going to make a smooth transition to the OLB position. I am not saying he can't do it, I'm just saying it will be difficult. I'm sorry, but Aaron is not the athlete that Harrison and Woodley of Pittsburgh are, not by a long shot. And because he is not, whenever he is lined up at OLB, the offense knows he will be coming, which takes away fromt the defense's versatility

The other guy that is going to have a huge adjustment is Harris. He's a press coverage corner who, quite frankly, is lousy in zone coverage. Does letting him take out the number one receiver and then let the game be reduced to 10 on 10 work (I don't know)?

All I'm saying is prepare yourselves for some personnel adjustments. I think Aaron is a very good 4-3 defensive end and Al is one of the best press corners in the league. Is it selfish of the Packers to make them adjust to a defense that doesn't fit their strengths, or would it be in player's best interest to be traded.

Like you said, it's too early to tell how Kampman will be as a 3-4 OLB. What did Harrison and Woodley run their 40's in at the combine? We'll simply have to see how Kampman can drop into coverage. He has the motor and build for it. It's not like we're asking Reggie White to drop back into pass coverage here. I've actually never seen anything from Kampman that suggests he's only capable of 5 yard bursts towards the QB or holding the edge on the line. I don't know how you drew your conclusion.

If Harrell can get healthy, I'm intrigued by him at DE. He's the perfect build for it.

That would make our D, with my ideal draft pick at #9:

Harrell - Pickett - Jenkins
Kampman - Barnett - Hawk - Everette Brown
Harris/Williams - Collins - Bigby - Woodson

That looks good, and can be upgraded. Assuming Jenkins and Harrell getting healthy. We also seem to be able to get the depth we need for the scheme. I'm excited to see how the players will learn new stuff.
Call me an idiot, but I have high hopes for this team, and the defense is no exception.
I know that this is not a very well based hope, it just comes from me, but the hope in the new staff's knowledge and the faith in the players, that must be behind this hope.
