First off, I extremely doubt any teams wants to give up a home game against the Packers as Packers fans will pack the place, which is why the Packers were the last team in London in the first place. So I see this as doubtful.

That being said, Packers have road games against all three of the London teams.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the NFL has announced that the Carolina Panthers will host next year’s NFL game in Munich, Germany, while the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings will be hosts in the league’s three games in London, England next season. If you’re looking at this from a Green Bay Packers perspective, this should set off alarms.

They want those sell outs at home.

But absolutely, it's possible, for any one of the games. All this NFL has to do is force it.

Agree.

I think the Packers would most likely play a team that sells out all the time anyway or a west coast team in London.
Go Packers!!!!

I have never liked the London games. Still don't. I doubt the NFL will have GB going to London twice in three years. If they do have to go, better as the away team instead of losing a home game.

I'm pretty sure the Giants gave up a Home game for London. I'm also pretty sure NFL compensates them greatly, so I don't think that's an issue. The NFL wants to grow and leveraging the amazing awesome super historic Green Bay Packers is the best way to do that. I'd be surprised if they sent Packers overseas again, but then again, NFL be greedy and why not put America's Team in front of UK again?

You mean the Packers/Giants game?

That was a Packers home 17th game (or 9th home game) which Murphy gave up and the 17th game (instead of 18) was his idea for this reason... Packers fans can still get their 8 home games, and the 9th can do more interesting things with.

Though he gave the the first one away, I assume he'll be keeping this next one, but then the question becomes does it go to the green package season ticket holders or the gold package season ticket holders? Or neither?

Heck, if I was him, I might start a White package season ticket holders (as Packers colors are Green, Gold and White), and White package gets one game every other year, when they don't give it over seas.

No one is willing giving out Packers road trip games to go overseas, they can simply sell out their home stadiums.

Same with Steelers, but their owner gave up home games.

Either way, I just don't think the money side of things is as vast as we presume it to be. There are a lot of things to factor in too though. Hotels, local economy, etc.

As of now the NFL gives teams the choice of taking their bye after playing in London or Germany. I think it should be mandatory. Most GMs and coaches would probably like to defer their bye until later in the season. Just like a concussed player would probably think he is ok and want to get back on the field. For the health and safety of the players the league should mandate the team take the bye following such a long trip.
