​​​​​Stokes had a very bad sophomore slump. And with most of the Safeties being FAs, that could get interesting.

Of course you need to let guys compete for spots and earn their spots, but I think day one of training camp (assuming everyone is healthy) next year, they should have Douglas and Alexander starting at CB out of base with Stokes coming off the bench.

I've thought nickel would be best Savage's best spot for years, but they didn't have the Safety depth to move him to the slot. Last year they finally did, but with Amos and Ford being FAs, might get interesting there.


​​​​​​Also, not in this article, but one rumor (probably nothing but a writers speculation) is if the Packers don't think they'll resign Savage then the Packers might try to trade Savage to free up the $7.9 million 5th year option that he's currently working on, to free up cap space and sign or resign other vets Safety to long term deals that would be more cap friendly being back loaded.

there are lots of questions regarding his sophomore slump. Was it him? Was it the discontinuity between the defensive back coach and the defensive coordinator? Was it just bad schemes by the defensive coordinator? I guess I’m willing to give the kids the benefit of the doubt because I thought he had a pretty good rookie year. 

To be fair, I didn’t think Douglas played all that well after giving him the big money, but the same questions apply.

Stokes and Douglas are good on outside, horrible inside. I guess that means Jaire goes inside and we go Nickel or sub one of the Safeties for LB.

Dude is tall and lanky. Iirc had a problem with guys cutting in front of him. Might still have been a bit raw, needs to stay low in his stance, work on his change of direction.

Rather be a little tall than a little short.
