What Janis offers as a WR is only a small consideration. The Packers value special teams play and Janis is one of the best they have to offer. He will most likely make the team on his special teams ability alone just like Jared Bush did for so many seasons. The fact that he can step in as an emergency WR is an added benefit, but he is not being relied upon as a WR by the coaching staff, imo. For whatever reason, he just can't put it together at WR. The only way he will lose his spot is if another WR comes in that can provide equal special teams and receiving ability. That's possible, but seems unlikely.

I heard that Cobb is the 7th highest paid WR in the NFL. I can see them cutting him because of his high price.
I really like the guy, and would hate to see him go. But you know Ted....

Cobb is being paid a lot but I do think he can be a very productive complement to Nelson. the problem is there are only so many balls to go around. Is he worth the high price? Probably not when you look at it from a production standpoint but if you look at the cap hit for the position the rest of the guys are making very little so it may not be quite as bad as it seems. I just don't see Ted moving on. Especially with a 6.5 million dead cap number.

I think Janis is the obvious odd man out. Ted Like his rookie WRs and he likes giving them a chance once he has them so I see him drafting another and I don't see him moving on from Davis or Allison just yet. They deserve at least as much time as Janis has had.

I would rather banish Cobb.
He's far too expensive for what he brings to the table.

We all recall all those former productive WRs who moved to TE later in their careers. All Jordy has to do is put on 35lbs and learn to block DEs and LBs. Should be a smooth transition this off season. I think Larry Fitzgerald is making the same move. Megatron really retired because Detroit wanted to switch him to TE. My goodness.

Janis will leave with a feeling we didn't maximize his talent whether this year or sometime soon.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

So the "Comeback Player of the Year" and "NFL Leader in Receiving TDs" clearly doesn't have it anymore and should be moved to an entirely different position? Makes sense...

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
