Not only would this protect innocent citizens from the abuses of bad cops, but it would protect good cops from the claims of bad citizens who falsely accuse them of wrongdoing.

Not only are we seeing just how widespread and common these abuses are, but the current climate has the public quick to accuse and to raise a stink about cases where they have no standing.

A body cam might have prevented the Ferguson riots and all the aftermath (since the cop was exonerated in that case) just as it might have prevented the cop in SC from shooting a fleeing motorist in the back.

Here at home, though, it would have prevented an otherwise outstanding young cop from being raked over the coals for a non-lethal takedown which resulted in the death of a 90 something year old crazy guy. (His injuries would not have been fatal but the guy and his family all refused medical attention)

Of course it would be an expense to arm all cops with cams but I feel the good this would do both cops and the public would far outweigh what it would cost to buy them.

But you are right, this country has a major problem on its hands. When I see ordinary police officers armed in full riot gear and use the military's leftover tanks, then it isn't a protect and serve unit anymore. It would be more comparable to the Gestapo.

The other problem with the police of this country is the statistical evidence of their racism, and the dual justice system we have: one for wealthy white people and their shithead kids, and the other for people in poverty and people of color.

Olhoss, we have a lot of bad, less than intelligent cops in this country. It probably has a lot to do with the compensation they receive and the demographic of people the get applying for the jobs.

It's no different than life in general. The amount of good people in this world drastically outweigh the wastes of skin who have nothing better to do than ruin others joy. There are actually people who have to put others down just feel any ounce of good about themselves.

We have too many laws and that makes it harder on the officers and citizens for that matter. And the laws we have, the punishment is being grouped with other "law breakers" to whom you can compare notes with!! Incarceration should be more rehabilitating/educating than what we have today.

But alas, how much MONEY can be made off rehabilitating or educating people?

Agree, cops need to have body cams for their protection as well as the public. Would any of us like having a camera and recording everything you do or say throughout your work day. Would be nice if there was a way for the cameras to be activated by the dispatchers when the officer responds to a call. And to be able to disable recording when not on a call.

Reliability of these systems and maintenance will be key. They need to be rock-solid enough so that...
1. Cops know these are recording at all times and know what to and when to check functionality
2. If the body cams mysteriously don't record/malfunction there's increased scrutiny and not shrugging over "technical difficulties"

Just more evidence that the return to investment for companies in "police-state" industries is likely to continue to grow...

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.

Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
    Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train

beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.

dfosterf (2-May) : Surprisingly low initially is my guess cap wise, but gonna pay the piper after that
dfosterf (2-May) : The number on Love is going to be brutal.
Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
    Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
    Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
