Of course it won't happen. Not unless the players somehow got a bigger payday for the extra games.

I've wonder if they might try going to a 18 week season with 16 games and 2 bye weeks.

That would make another week of football (which should mean more $$$ from TV deal (after the current deal runs out)).

Also should give the players more time to heal/recover from the last game.

It's a win-win other than maybe for the fans who would have to deal with another bye week for their team (aka football week with your team not playing).


And if they could schedule it so every team has a bye week before every Thursday night game.

So instead of asking playing to play on Sunday an Thursday with little time to recover between they could have a bye week then Thursday night game giving players more then the normal 7 days to heal both before and after the Thursday night game.

i have been an advocate of the Bye week before a Th game for a few years. It would work with 2 byes. The teams that fly to London could get their bye after London.

This leader of the NFLPA needs to check his attitude and learn his role. It is not up to him as to whether to allow or not allow anything, his job is to represent the will of the Players. If the players were to agree to 18 games, than he should not stand in the way.

Players care about the money, if the monetary compensation is there, I doubt players would say no.
