I think Option 2 with Jermichael Finley playing out his contract and MAYBE Greg Jennings resigns with the Packers. I just doubt the latter happening. I could see the Packers extending Finley, ultimately reducing his cap hit to 2013 though.

They love him. No doubt. Packer brass loves Finley. That is one hell of an expensive decoy...

I like Option 4, where Jennings sadly walks, and Finley is released. We won a Super Bowl WITHOUT Finley... I understand his intangibles of size and speed. I just happen to think his route running is very sub par, his blocking stinks, and his hands are not sure. That, and he's been kind of a head case here in GB. And, we pay top dollar for that. Blows my mind.

I would much rather spend these dollars on proven talent that will better other areas of our team. Last I checked, we have a ton of holes to fill. LT, C, RB, DE, NT, ILB, OLB, S. Can't fill all of those needs in the draft alone. Spend those dollars on players available in FA.

I haven't started looking at who might be available at WR through FA, but to me I think we should be able to find somebody decent. Maybe this is bad business for the Agent who wants to be paid now, but who wouldn't want one of the players that they represent to go play with Rodgers and potentially boost their stats for a bigger pay-day down the road?
