Sorry to hear that bud. On a lighter note, PH.com is hiring, the pay sucks, and there's very limited benefits. 🙂

I've been unemployed for three months. Today is my first day for going back to work. But it's a consulting position, pays well but ZERO benefits and is supposed to last 9-12 months so nothing is guaranteed.

Pisses me off even more that WEAC and the public employee unions think they have a right to squeeze as much money as they can off of people like me. I'll trade my pension with any of them any day.

I can top that, 6 months of work, $12 an hour, great weight loss program sweating your ass off, pain tolerance training being stung by bees, and of course the beautiful outdoors of North Dakota.

There is no such thing as "job security" anymore. That died out years ago. When my Dad was alive, he worked at a company that was family owned and run. If there was a problem, you went upstairs and talked right to the guy who's name was on the company. They treated their employees like FAMILY. They had yearly picnics, Christmas parties, bonuses, all of it.
Now, almost all companies are owned by some other big company, and all you are is a number. Doesn't matter how many years or blood, sweat, and tears you put into it. They will just stab you in the back and throw you out the back door.
That's the world we live in today.
sad.

Don't be such a commie and embrace capitalism.

That does suck, Digs. Can't really say a whole lot about this, I don't actually have a career, but Vikes said some wise things. If you approach this like a new opportunity, you might be better for it. Something you actually enjoy. Makes life a lot better.
