I have, as you know, been happy to support MM, because, quite honestly, he has deserved it thus far. This offensive offense sits squarely on his shoulders, and he looks clueless in how do correct it.

Rodgers is regressing, and once again hanging on to the ball too long. The OL cannot be trusted when it matters....if at all. Our WRs seem to be having a group sulk and running lazy routes. And the coaches seem to be running this show playing not to lose instead of going for the win. There is no killers instinct, and a sense of methodical sloth at moments when urgency would seem to be the desired mindset. Add to that the fact that Slocum is still employed as overseer of our special teams....and well, is does not look good.

We can hope that some people get healthy and this team reips off a few wins to limp into the playoffs, but I now believ e that if Mike McCarthy cannot get his VERY talented offense to live up to their potential, that should he further resist change at key coaching positions, his time in Green Bay must now be viewed more critically.

I'm not sure how you can differentiate between playing to win and playing not to lose, but your general point I totally agree with.

Frankly, the offense as a whole is regressing. Most concerning is that our prize QB is regressing.

That is a glaring problem, one that has to fall squarely on the shoulders of McCarthy.

I mean body language, the sharpness and crispness of routes, velocity and certainty of throws...this team displays none of this. They play like they are waiting for the boot to drop....and then allow it. Again...defense is diluted seriously. But our offense is still loaded...and terribly underwhelming.

Wow kind of hard to believe were 3-4, I never thought we would even be in a position like this.

I guess he must be counting next week's loss to the Vikings in there already.

Indicative of mental state of many fans. Giving up on the Pack 6 games in when they are really 3-3.

My problems are.

Shotgun - When you have an Oline struggling, the shotgun is more difficult because the defense gets a better jump. Get under C, use the snap count to slow the pass rush.

Running game - to predictable. How many times does McCarthy expect Jackson to make positive yards from a Shotgun delay draw? Get under center, with a back and make the defense worry about a run game to slow the pass rush.

Confidence. Remember back to Holmgren and Favre. Mike would call early plays designed to get Brett comfortable and settle in. McCarthy needs to do that with Rodgers and doesn't.

What would you guys think if we gave Joe Philbin an opportunity to call plays? Or get an offensive coordinator that does call plays?

I'm not saying that I want this (and I don't), but I'm just putting it out there to see what some of you would think of it.

I mean, what purpose does Philbin serve right now? Does he even do anything? I guess he helps Mike McCarthy make the plays?

I would be for it. If I remember correct, when McCarthy was coaching the probowl team he had Philbin call the plays for that. And if I remember right, he ran the piss out of Peterson.
