More than half of Jared Allen's sacks game against the Packers in two games. They still count, but I'm starting to question the horny approach some have towards anointing him as the best. I'm not saying he's a slouch, just saying I think when looking at his numbers, how they were compiled, he has the Packers to thank.

Just like KGB - 12-15 sacks, but who were they against - Chicagos dog shit line at the time.

Allen is awesome because protection is rolled to him but he still applies pressure. Just taking sack totals doesn't complete the picture. It's a half-ass assessment.

Let me be 100% clear on this. I am in no way comparing Jared Allen to Reggie White

I agree 100%. Just like Reggie White. His sack totals could never come close to showing the type of havoc he wreaked on a weekly basis.

Let me be 100% clear on this. I am in no way comparing Jared Allen to Reggie White

Pressures, fear, gameplanning, rolling coverage, keeping a RB or TE in to help protect. That is the real effect of a great pass rusher.

Let me be 100% clear on this. I am in no way comparing Jared Allen to Reggie White. I want this to be clear!! If anyone needs more clarification, please let me know.

And that's exactly it. He's always there to get a pressure or a hit, even if it doesn't show up in the stat colum.

Just look at the stats of their LE, Ray Edwards. Offenses are totally focusing on Jared Allen, often leaving Edwards one on one, and it has paid of for him. That's no coincedence.

Ya wanna run that by us again! The greatest play I ever saw Reggie have was when he heaved Crybaby Chris right back at Randall Cunningham. I don't think too many could have pulled that off.

As much as I hate Allen, I respect his play, down after down.

Some of my favorites were when he hurt his bicep or tricep and it was thought he would be out for the season. He said god healed him and he played. Dude was basically throwing fools around with one arm and he played awesome. I cant remember which game it was but i believe it was the playoffs for sure.

And when he was throwing Larry Allen around with one arm, i was amazed. Later on, Larry Allen, who it was said could bench press 6-700 pounds, was considered the best OG hands down for quite a while and Reggie was turning the guy on his head with one arm. He totally dominated whether he was at DE or DT. You just don't see that anymore.

I'm thankful that I started watching football just in time to see the best RB ever(Barry Sanders), the best receiver(Jerry Rice), the best D-lineman(Reggie White), CB(Deion Sanders) and LB(Lawrence Taylor even though he was at the end of his career)
