At this stage in the game, no matter what combination of tackles you throw out there, Rodgers is still probably going to be running for his life.

Barbre has gotten better since Week 1, but again, he's not exactly made any great strides either. Lang and Clifton have been about equal imo as far as what they've given up, but at least Lang hasn't proven to be the penalty magnet Clifton has been.

I say give the Barbre/Lang tackle duo one more week and see how they do against Tampa. I'd personally be up for benching Barbre in favor of Tauscher at this point to see what he can do, but I'm still more in favor of Lang over Clifton just due to giving up fewer penalties and what future potential he might have. Nothing I've really seen out of Clifton so far this season makes me think he's playing better than Lang is, so keep him on the bench and let that ankle of his continue to get better.

I think if Mark is ready, you play him against Tampa and see where he is at.

IMO, Lang should be starting on the other end, giving Clifton time to get the ankle right.. if we make a post season run this year.. we are going to need the depth at both ends.

This scenario starts to establish what we have and where we stand. Barbre can play if need be, but we have to see what we have in Mark right now.

I think it is laughable that Philbin has no clue where Mark's knee is at.. are we seriously this inept at communication in Green Bay? I would love to defend it, but come the hell on.

Keep Clifton out. His penalties while in have been bad enough, and having him on a bum ankle will only make his protection and probably his penalties worse. Lang didn't play a bad game for going against Allen.

Tauscher, if his knee is good to go, should go in. Barbre has had a lot of improvement, and still is not as good as Tauscher was before injury. I don't care if Barbre is a better run blocker. We are a passing team, and Tauscher has always been a great pass blocker because he uses great technique.

Bring him in and see. More than likely, we will not be any worse off with Tausch.

My SUSPICION with Cliffy and the penalties is MOSTLY this.

He is doing everything in his power to keep from getting beat man on man.

Through the injuries, he has been debilitated in speed and strength. He is "cheating" to accommodate.

It's not personal, I like Cliffy. I think he's done. His past performances are no reason to think that he can be relied upon now. I am speaking of past years performances.

Tausch is a complete question mark. We certainly look like we need to see.

Barbre sucks, imo.

The situation with Tausch could EASILY be worse than the situation with Cliffy.

IF Tausch can go, put him out there. Put Lang out there. GIVE LANG HELP if he needs it.

GIVE TAUSCH HELP if he needs it, but Lang doesn't. If BOTH need help (probably somewhat likely) TRY Barbre at RT again, keep the help for Lang.

Cliffy as last resort in the event of an injury to Lang.

Did I mention that I think Cliffy is done?

I'm for the Lang/Tauscher combo. Neither of them rack up penalties like the other guys. When Clifton has been in this year he has not really blocked any better than Lang then you add all the penalties and it just isn't worth it.

I just point out something (again). When I say get them some help, there is no law that says we cannot take one of these right tackles and make them a tight end. Tausch has played it. Breno Giacomini (I believe) is a CONVERTED TIGHT END. I know it seems weird. I think they have to declare. So what? Jermichael is out. I say try it. Suit up Breno. Let him chip. He's what, 311 lbs? It's been done before. We could possibly go from a weakness to a strength. I'd like to see Breno in the flat, catching a ball. That could be fun to watch. With that kind of double team action, I can see some DE's staying home more, too.

Who would you rather have blocking? Donald Lee or Breno Giacomini?--On this line?

It's a problematic situation for sure.

They absolutely cannot go with Clifton unless his ankle is 100%. I think most would agree with that. The problem I see is I don't think Lang is a long term solution at LT.

With Tauscher what I hope can happen is the Pack jumps out to a good lead and they let him in there to see how he moves around. He hasn't been live for so long now I think starting him would be an error UNLESS possibly he just takes over in practice and it's obvious he's the best player. Apparantly, that has not happened as of yet.

Whatever the solution is two of these guys needs to step up and play better than what we've seen. I don't give a crap which two it is but somebody step up.

PS. We need Spitz back. Wells isn't playing any better than either tackle position. It just doesn't get noted as much.

What would be awesome would be if Clifton and Tauscher could muster one last run and lead an offensive line revival that ends up with us in the Metrodome in the playoffs resulting in 0 sacks and a Pack win.

Now wouldn't that kick butt?

Wells is a try hard effort player.. just not overly effective.
